The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region
Average rain fall 28cm, so not particularly wet but it can be chilly sometimes. Best to head for a cafe or bistro if you're cold or soak up the atmosphere in one of the many historic houses.
The Old Town is steeped in history, interesting specialist shops, stunning views as well as beautiful architecture. With many traditional bars and fine restaurants this is a great area to wander and absorb the culture of Edinburgh.
Holyrood Park, the park within the city, boasts Arthurs Seat with magnificent views over Edinburgh. It’s 200mtrs high but worth the climb.

The Christmas Festival now starts about the end of November and runs on to the New Year.
The Tattoo runs though August.

How to get there
Flying into Edinburgh - we can organise a taxi to collect you from the airport. The airport express bus 100 takes you to the city centre and stops at Waverley Station. It is a 30 minute ride. The local bus 35 will also take you to the city centre. The 35 runs less frequently and will take about an hour but it will drop you off on the Royal Mile close to the apartment. Waverley Station is about a 10 minute walk at the most to the apartment.
