The Grassmarket is one of Edinburgh's liveliest areas, with many restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops a few steps away.
A great base from which to explore one of Europe's most beautiful cities!
Long term and metered parking nearby, but you really don't need a car in this very central location - it is an easy walk to all tourist attractions! If you want to go further, public transport is good and there is a bus stop (including the city tour buses) right outside the door.

The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region
Edinburgh is one of Europe's most beautiful cities, and a wonderful place for a city holiday. Nearly everything is within an easy walk of the apartment.
History is everywhere in Edinburgh and the surrounding area. The oldest part of the Castle dates from the 12th century, and much of the Old Town was built 500 years ago.
There are dozens of golf courses in and around the city and St Andrews is a short drive away.
It is an easy day trip by car or bus to the mountains and lochs of the Highlands. For movie fans, the William Wallace (Braveheart) memorial is in nearby Stirling, and Roslyn Chapel (Da Vinci code) is just outside Edinburgh.

With more than 35,000 students, Edinburgh has a very lively student life, centred near the apartment.
In August each year, Edinburgh is home to the largest arts festival in the world, with theatre, concerts, jazz, ballet, opera, comedy and visual arts, together with a film festival and a book festival. In August he city is full of street performers and music.
Within a very short distance of the apartment are dozens of pubs, cafes, sophisticated bars, and every type of restaurant.
The Museum of Scotland, very near the apartment, presents the history of Scotland from ealy geological times to the present in a spectacular architectural setting.
For gardeners, the Royal Botanc Garden is the second oldest in Britain, with one of the finest collections of plants in the world.
Lots of activities for children, too, including Edinburgh Zoo, Edinburgh Dungeon, Deep Sea World acquarium at North Queensferry (20 minutes by train), and the Children's Museum.
