The Lothians region

Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland and is an historic mix of architecture from the 16th Century onwards. Particularly well known is its Georgian New Town (built in 1820!!) and this apartment is located in the New Town area. Edinburgh has a wealth of attractions from its Castle, Holyrood Palace, the Queen's home in Scotland and the Scottish Parliament. It has theatres, cinemas, opera, and numerous top class restaurants. A compact city, it can easily be explored on foot and connections by air and rail are first class .

The Edinburgh Festival is the largest of its kind in the world and in August the city is full to overflowing with hundreds of thousands of artists and visitors. But it has other festivals for example the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival and hosts International Rugby etc.
