The Lothians region
Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city is in Midlothian. The surrounding area is famous for the home of Golf, beautiful sandy beaches and spectacular scenery. No visit is complete without a trip over the famous Forth Road Bridge. Take a trip on the Maid of the Forth boat and see the bridges from the water, the boat also takes you to Inchcombe Island, once home to monks but now a National Trust site.
From Edinburgh you can take the train to Glasgow in 45 minutes or up to the Highlands for a day out although there is plenty to see and do in the city itself.
Edinburgh, home of the famous Military Tattoo, Edinburgh International festival and fringe, the Jazz and Blues festival, Book festival, Film festival and lots of special events for children throughout the year.
There's so much history and fun things to see and do in Edinburgh you just need to make sure you have enough time to fit it all in.
We have some fantastic restaurants, three theatres, cinema complexes and of course Leith and it's Ocean terminal where the Royal Yacht Brittania is berthed. Beautiful Botanic gardens, the Queen's home when she comes to Edinburgh Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament building, Come take a look, you'll love it!
