The mews is a wonderful base for a trip to Edinburgh and central Scotland. Many attractions are located within walking distance of the property and while the mews is located in the city centre it is also within earshot of the bells of the awe-inspiring St Mary's Cathedral. The Modern Art Gallery is located 5 minutes walk west and Edinburgh Castle is only a 5 minute stroll east.

The mews was originally part of the stables for houses within the famous New Town and was developed into a stunning contemporary property in Spring 2012. The fully equipped kitchen allows guests to cook but Edinbugh boasts a wealth of Michelin starred restaurants that may prove irresistble to guests. We believe that whether you are visiting Edinburgh on holiday or for business purposes our high quality accommodation will enhance your experience of this beautiful city.

"I couldn't recommend this property and host enough. The whole process was made so easy by Colin. Communication was great and everything ran smoothly. The property itself is as good as it looks in the pictures - immaculate, really comfy bed, amazing shower and everything you would need for a weekend break or even a longer stay. The location is also great too - a really nice quiet road, but really close to the town and right by Edinburgh castle. "First of all, Colin gave us his phone number, and was incredibly easy to communicate with. What's more, he was incredibly flexible as our arrival time changed. The Mews was immaculate, the little amenities like the heated towel rack, and very comfortable bed made it a absolutely wonderful experience. They even had orange juice and milk in the fridge, coffee and tea in the cupboard, and his wife even made us some treats. (Which were delicious!) The location was amazing as well. A quick jaunt to Princes Street, an easy walk to Old Town while still being quiet. Colin was a great host (I even forgot my computer charger in the apartment the day we left and he picked it up and met me somewhere convenient!) , and I can't wait to stay there again! "

"Quite simply this is a perfect spot to stay right in the heart of the city. Quietly placed and within walking distance to Princes Street for shopping. There are also some very cute small shops and cafes along William Street which I can also recommend. The mews itself is exactly as it is shown to be in the photographs and has everything that a visitor needs to keep themselves comfortable. A lot of attention has been paid to detail and the mews has a modern but comfortable air about it. Colin was waiting for me when I arrived and was kind enough to return a little later with some adaptors for my European laptop and phone. He made sure that I had everything that I needed to make my stay a good one and his wife's delicious flapjacks were appreciated by my children when they dropped by to visit. I would love to stay here again. Book early because this beautiful place is bound to become quite popular." (NOV 2012)

The airy open living space has velux windows located in the roof, a feature deep recessed window by the kitchen and a further French window by the reading corner allowing the space to be flooded by natural daylight. The deep leather sofa has a recessed floor electric point located close by so that lap tops can be charged while being used.

The sofa is located in front of the wall-hung Smart television for easy viewing. There is also a deep comfortable arm chair with a Morrocan footstool set in the reading corner with a good supply of books written by contemporary and classic Scottish authors.

Artwork in the living space and bedroom has been created by local artist Catherine Sinclair creating a peaceful ambience. The bedroom was designed with comfort in mind and the greatest investment was made in the large double bed to encourage a deep, comfortable sleep. An ensuite shower room provides a large shower area, while the cloakroom situated off the vestibule offers a second WC and hand basin.

Central Scotland has many places of interest to visit and is also a great base for travelling further up to the beautiful highlands of Perthshire. Edinburgh lies just 48 miles from the vibrant city of Glasgow and 42 miles from Perth, the "Gateway to the Highlands".

The west coast of Scotland is lush and green due to the warm Atlantic current and East Lothian provides plenty of coastal walks with pretty towns such as North Berwick simply 30 minutes travel from Edinburgh. Or if you prefer to remain in Edinburgh take the bus down to Cramond and see the Roman fort located there. If you're keen to see places of historic interest a visit to Stirling is a must.

Only 30 miles from Edinburgh Stirling has its own castle as well as the National Wallace Monument in memorial of Sir William Wallace, patriot, martyr, and Guardian of Scotland.

It's very difficult to do justice to the many festivals and attractions that exist in Edinburgh. As well as the world renowned Edinburgh Festival that is held every August there is the Hogmanay festival on New Year's Eve, the Science Festival in the spring, the Edinburgh International Film Festival in early summer, the Jazz and Blues Festival and also the Edinburgh Tattoo, the Book Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe that run alongside the Edinburgh Festival in August.

A suggested itinerary for one of the days that you stay at the mews might be that you wander round to the iconic Brass & Copper coffee haunt in the West End village where you will enjoy THE best coffee, a fantastic way to start your day. Or enjoy a wonderful weekend brunch along at Indigo Yard. Within minutes you can walk to Princes Street where you will be standing in the shadow of the magnificent Edinburgh castle. You can choose to walk past it towards the historic Grassmarket or climb up the Mound to the Royal Mile where the castle proudly stands at one end with an easy walk down towards Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament. Once you've got there you might choose to climb the iconic Arthur's Seat, a hill with an umissable view of the city. (Did you notice that there's been no talk of transport yet? Your accommodation is so central that public transport is rarely required!)

Or if you prefer to get off the beaten track turn left instead of right and wander around the New Town where you can admire the fine architecture on your way to the Modern Art Gallery. After inspiring your creativity wander along the Water of Leith towards Stockbridge - a mellow and dreamy walk that takes you to this small community buzzing with cafes, vintage clothing and artisan shops.

And if this all sounds a bit too laid back then head to George Street for an evening of high class eating and clubbing - hey if the Opal Lounge was good enough for Prince William we're thinking we might give it a visit....

"Fantastic,comfortable and modern accommodation ."

We travelled to Edinburgh Central Mews by train to Edinburgh's Hayfield railway station.The Mews are a 5 minute walk in the direction of the city centre. On arriving we were greeted by the owner, Colin, who showed us around the property which was an absolute delight. We were delighted to find coffee, tea, fruit juice and flapjacks provided,which was extremely welcoming. The mews are very contemporary, light and a pleasure to stay in,being very close to all amenities and a five minute walk from the city centre. I can highly recommend this property and we will definitely be staying again!

"Highly recommended"

We had a great stay at the Edinburgh Mews. The first thing that both of us commented on was how immaculate the accommodation was. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar, orange juice and home made flapjacks were all available which saved us having to stock up on essentials the minute we arrived. The apartment is very central - we walked to Murrayfield and whilst it took about 45 minutes, we soaked up the atmosphere and doubt you'd have got there any quicker on a match-day with all the traffic etc. To get into the main part of Edinburgh (Princes Street, Rose Street) was about a 10 minute walk (if that). Right near by are some good pubs and restaurants, and the castle was about a 15 minute walk. When we were due to leave, Colin kindly looked after our luggage to save us hauling it around the city for the day, and met us just before we got a taxi back to the airport. 5* service and highly recommended.

"Great Apartment close to City centre"

The apartment was great! We will definitely use it again. Loved that it is so close to town and so beautifully furnished and designed. Lots of natural light. Lovely homely touches like the juice and delicious homemade flapjacks. Lots of shops nearby with coffee shops, pubs and restaurants around the corner but far enough away not to disturb.
