Edinburgh has many Museums, Art Galleries, the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace and Park, the Royal Mile, Dynamic Earth, the Usher Hall, world class restaurants and theatres, And of course there is the Castle and the many Festivals from July to September.

In addition to Edinburgh's many cultural and leisure amenities there is easy access to the sea at Crammond and Portobello. The beautiful beaches of East Lothian are only 30 minutes away as is the Forth Bridge with access to Fife and beyond.

There are 3 swimming pools with steam rooms, saunas,gyms and fitness classes within a short distance . The re-furbished Olympic size Commonwealth pool is on the bus route from apartment which takes you close to Holyrood Park and Arthur's seat.

The nearby Royal Botanic Gardens- entry free- has, as well as ponds, hot houses and wonderful trees and plants- the recently opened John Hope building which houses the Gateway Restaurant. Less formally there is the Terrace cafe whose outdoor terrace affords fine views of the city.

The Pavilion is close to fashionable Stockbridge and the New Town where art galleries and antique shops stand side by side with trendy cafes and bars.

Edinburgh is the beautiful Capital of Scotland and has an interesting heritage, a reputation for culture, extensive leisure facilities and great shopping.

Scotland has a glorious history and much of it took place here in Edinburgh . There are plenty of opportunities to explore that on a visit to the City. Visitor attractions include the Castle, Holyrood Palace, the Royal Mile, National Gallery, Princess Street Gardens, Camera Obscura, Royal Yacht Britannia and the Scottish Parliament.

It is hard to better Edinburgh but for those who want to get out of the city East Lothian is a rural idyll with many glorious beaches and a wide blue skyline.

Edinburgh is a city on a human scale where most activities are within easy walking distance or easily reached using the excellent public transport system. There is a bus stop 50 yards from Apartment where a bus runs to city centre every 10 minutes There are too many places to visit and things to do to list but an excellent tourist information office has brochures and advice in abundance.

To fit in all you want to see and do some prior research might be advisable.

Goldenacre has 3 grocery stores, 3 cafes, an antique shop, an excellent fish shop, a pharmacy and 3 Banks. Nearby in Canonmills there are further cafes , restaurants and pubs and a Tesco Superstore. The beautiful, peaceful Royal Botanic Gardens are a 5 minute walk from the Apartment.
