About the home
Our apartment is a 'home from home' in a quiet street tucked away from the main Raeburn Place shopping area but within easy access of Princes Street Edinburgh (a 10 minute walk away - 5mins by very regular buses or a 3 min taxi ride - just go the end of the road and flag one down, they are available at a moments notice). Two bedrooms, lounge/dining room/galley kitchen/family bathroom with power shower/rear garden (shared).
The apartment is fully equiped for a relaxing family holiday. We have a large double bed/ single bed and a comfortable bed settee in the lounge. TV and free fast speed internet access. The apartment is on the ground floor and suitable for wheelchair access. If you are honeymooning or wanting to celebrate a special anniversary or birthday please let me know in advance and I can arrange to have a special treat for you upon arrival at a little extra cost, please just ask when booking. We do have a garden but it is a shared one. You are very welcome to hang any of your clothes out to dry if you have washed them in the washing machine. We respectfully request that if you are bringing your pet dog/s with you that you do not exercise them in the garden as children play there. There are plenty of beautiful walks for your pet along the Dean Riverside just a few minutes walk away.
If you are arriving late in Edinburgh Airport it may be possible for one of us to collect you from the airport, please just ask and we will try to arrange things with you. You can get to the apartment very easily from Edinburgh Airport by taking the Airport bus into Edinburgh, jumping into a taxi for a short 5minute journey to the flat. Just bring yourselves! Everything you will need is in the apartment. Centrally heated, clean and comfortable. You could spend a whole week in this area without even leaving the Stockbridge area at all! The Botanic Gardens are a short walk away.
Stockbridge has a public swimming baths, many cafes, bistros and restaurants, library, and a stunning riverside walk which will take you to the National Gallery of Modern Art and into the beautiful Dean Village. There is a large Waitrose a short 10 minute walk away and there is also a smaller Sainsburys and Co-Op store 2minutes walk away. There is also a post office. Should you need a doctor or dentist they are close by too.

There is a large rear garden which is a shared area. There is seating for your to enjoy the garden and your apartment overlooks the right hand side which gives you the feeling of being in the countryside. It is quiet at night here so would be ideal for anybody who loves the excitement of the city and all it has to offer but likes to be able to sleep peacefully. There is a public swimming baths in Stockbridge which has recently been re-opened after being restored - this is only a ten minute walk away. If you are bringing your dog with you we respectfully request that you do not exercise them in the rear shared garden, children play out there occasionally.
Further details
There will be fully refundable fee of £100 for breakage or damage to the flat which will be refunded to you within 12 hours of your leaving. All damages however, must be paid for. We ask that you put the key through the letterbox when you leave the apartment. The apartment is STRICTLY NO SMOKING.
Conditions
This apartment is one in a shared block of 16 homes. Our neighbours are professional working people, retired couples and families with young children. All that we ask is that you keep noise levels down to a minimum after 11pm. Wheelchair users, you will be able to park outside for unloading but vehicle may have to be parked further along the street. Parking is free from 5.30pm - 8.30am and at weekends but is payable by meter 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday. The apartment is strictly not available for hen or stag/party groups.
The Lothians / Midlothian region
Edinburgh is Scotland's capital city and an ever popular, vibrant, lively place to visit. Renowned for its annual international Edinburgh Festival and Fringe, there is much to see and do with something for all to enjoy all year round whether it be Edinburgh Zoo with its pandas, the many museums, art galleries and theatres or the world famous Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace.
Great for shopping, cultural trips or just soaking up the history; Edinburgh has it all. Ideally placed too to reach other parts of Scotland with trips to East Lothian with its beaches and golf courses being easy to get to, as well as historical St Andrews via the magnificent Forth bridges.
The Edinburgh / Stockbridge area
Our flat is in the Stockbridge area of the city in the heart of the New Town area. Stockbridge is like a little village within the city with its own high street and many local shops, pubs and restaurants.
Enjoy being in the city but at the same time being close to beautiful parkland, the city's Botanic Gardens and riverside walks along the Water of Leith. Dean Village and its fine heritage are a short walk away as is Queen Street and Princes Street where you'll find somewhere to enjoy a dram of our finest Scotch whiskies.

The flat was beautiful. Jessica and Graham made us feel welcome the minute we arrived. They provided us with everything we needed for the first day! The flat is in close proximity to the city center. There are also enough bus stops close by. You can find shops, restaurants, dry cleaners,.....everything you need just around the corner.
