Royal Park Terrace is one of Edinburgh's hidden gems. The apartment at Royal Park Terrace is a 3 Bedroom apartment overlooking Holyrood Park and only ten minutes walk through the park to Holyrood Palace, Dynamic Earth and the Royal Mile.

The apartment has been modernised to a very high degree with comfortable and quality furnishings and benefits from free on street parking all year round.

Holyrood Park is on your door step and will entice you in to enjoy its beauties. You could say it is the front garden of the flat as the gate to the park is only a few meters from the front door. You can spend an enjoyable day walking through the park picnicking, cycling, playing or just watching the swans and ducks in the nearby lochs.

There are a variety of walks up or around Arthur's Seat with many giving spectacular views of the city skyline, the Forth or the Pentland hills. There is a choice of routes to suit walkers of all abilities so there is something for everyone.

Arrival time is normally after 5pm on the day of arrival, however, if you wish to arrive earlier this can be arranged when possible with prior notification. If your arrival time is after 9pm on the day of arrival there will be an extra £30 charge.

No pets generally, however, some exceptions maybe allowed depending on the pet.

Arthur's Seat is the main peak of the group of hills which form most of Holyrood Park, described by Robert Louis Stevenson as "a hill for magnitude, a mountain in virtue of its bold design". It is situated in the centre of the city of Edinburgh, about a mile to the east of Edinburgh Castle. The hill rises above the city to a height of 250.5 m (822 ft), provides excellent panoramic views of the city, is relatively easy to climb, and is popular for hillwalking. Though it can be climbed from almost any direction, the easiest and simplest ascent is from the east, where a grassy slope rises above Dunsapie Loch.

Calton Hill is a hill in central Edinburgh, Scotland, just to the east of the New Town. Views of, and from, the hill are often used in photographs and paintings of the city.

Calton Hill is the headquarters of the Scottish Government, which is based at St Andrew's House, on the steep southern slope of the hill; with the Scottish Parliament Building, and other key buildings, for example Holyrood Palace, lying near the foot of the hill. The hill also includes several iconic monuments and buildings: the National Monument, Nelson's Monument, the Dugald Stewart Monument, the New Parliament House (the Royal High School, the Robert Burns Monument, the Political Martyrs' Monument and the City Observatory.

Meadowbank Retail Park is located just west of Meadowbank Stadium and just south of Hibs Stadium, accessed off the main road east out of Edinburgh (Scotland), the continuation of London Road up to Jock's Lodge. “Fabulous apartment at a great price” I stayed in this apartment in December 2012, great location well equipped flat, 15 minute walk from the city. Loved it so much have already booked again!

“Fabulous!” The flat was an extremely comfortable and pleasant place to stay. A short walk across the park to High Street meant that it was really easy to get to town. That closeness also meant that it was cheap on the days when we treated ourselves to a taxi. There's a supermarket close and bus routes are good too. The flat was really clean, well equipped (Wedgewood china, no less) and (my own personal favourite) had really lovely bed linen! We were a group of 3 adults and 4 children and it was plenty spacious for all of us. And the owner was a delight to deal with!

“Home from home with an amazing view.” Excellent service from initial booking to actual arrival. Petrea and Steve were there on our arrival to help with luggage and show how everything worked. Told us how to get to local supermarket(5 mins walk) and where the bus stop was(same place 5min walk). Apartment was exactly as shown but even more homely with a thoughtful New Years gift that was much appreciated. Great location with amazing view to Arthur's seat across Holyrood Park. Frequent visitor to Edinburgh but first time we have stayed in an apartment, definitely not our last. This is a top floor apartment so there are stairs to climb but well worth it.

“Fantastic apartment, great location and great owner” We arrived to find a great apartment. We were met and shown where things were and how to work everything. All the bedding, towels, iron and ironing board were all in the apartment as well as many other little things we would have needed to buy. It was very clean and very well equipped. It was a great location and a lovely view of Arthurs seat out the lounge window. There was free parking outside the apartment. The only downside was all the stairs so wouldnt be suitable for people with mobility problems. We managed fine with the stairs. There was great attention to detail. We were told to call the owner if we had any questions or problems but we didnt need to. The owner came to see us when we were leaving and we had a lovely chat. We were VERY pleased with everything and will definately be booking again. Thanks again Petrea.

“A pleasure to stay there” I had a very warm welcome from Petrea and her husband. They explained everything detailed on me and even lent me a netbook. The flat was very comfortable and excellently equipped. I It was quiet although it was near the centre with a great view to Holyrood Park and Arthurs Seat and the option to walk there, whenever you want to. Nevertheless it was not far away from the Royal Mile and the attractions of Edinburgh, which were within walking distance. Shopping facilities were near by and the flat was home away from home. I would not hesitate to recommend it for a stay in Edinburgh.

“Comfortable, well appointed apartment in convenient location with good access to the City Centre.” Excellent location for energetic walks up to Arthur's Seat or for less strenuous meanders through the park to Holy Rood Palace, then into the City Centre - we did both. No need to use the car unless venturing out of Edinburgh - brilliant free street parking. The apartment has been furnished with good quality furnishing and accessories, making it more like a home than a rental. Petrea was extremely helpful and efficient with enquiries and booking. During the Ed Fest, she even went the extra mile and performed in a wonderful tango music and dance evening at St John's Church Hall, for which we obtained tickets. Definitely would return.

“Hidden Gem” My husband and our son, daugter-in-law, and one-year old grandson stayed in this lovely, comfortable flat with every amenity we could need. The flat is tastefully furnished and has been recently renovated to a high degree. The location is excellent! We walked through the nearby gate to Holyrood Park almost every day. Our host was welcoming, friendly and most helpful. We would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone who wants a delightful get-away in an ideal Edinburgh location.

“away with the kids on a city break” a very enjoyable stay .great views over the park and arthurs seat ,which is easily doable before tea. a macdonalds for the kids ten mins away while you have 1 night out alone . just far enough out, to be able to walk into town ,yes every thing we needed.dont forget the tour bus

“Superb luxury flat , comfort at its best.” We stayed here during the Edinburgh festival summer 2010 and it was a terrific base for our holiday. Only a short walk to the main bus routes to the city centre. It was lovely at the end of a long day to return to such comfort and luxury. The beds and duvets some of the most comfortable I have slept in. The kitchen superbly equipped with the best of everything. I would love to be able to visit again and for the festival as well which is an event not to be missed. Follow this as we did with a week On Mull in Aisling cottage to recover and rest and the holday cant be beaten.

“Superb experience” I visited Scotland with my family over a period of 4 days. The apartment is located at one of the most important and iconic locations in the UK where you have the magnificent Arthur's Seat, tranquil Royal Park, vibrant Princess Street and festive Royal Mile within walking distance. As we entered the flat, we were stunned by how gorgeous it was. Whilst my parents fell in love with the Italian sofa chair, I got addicted to music listening through the multi-room audio system. These are just some examples of the great comfort and creativity we have experienced at the flat. It is also important to mention that the Landlord is a wonderful person who is very helpful, friendly and trustworthy. We have enjoyed every moment of our stay and now we have found the perfect apartment when we return to Edinburgh. Thank you again for the warm hospitality!

“Perfect location, lovely view and fabulous apartment.” Used the flat as a base to visit family with a newborn, was perfect to keep us close at hand but not under their feet. Proximity to park is great for marauding toddlers and an easy walk or bus to town or the beach at portobello. The space worked well for us and facilities were good quality. We found leaving the buggy downstairs easiest. We hope to stay again.

“Great accommodation with views and a good walk into the centre” We were very impressed with the accommodation, having stayed in a lot of self catering apartments in Edinburgh, we found this to be really excellent. We really appreciated the kitchen and large cooker so we could stay in and cook for our group; it is very well equipped and contained everything we needed, particularly appreciated the 'on tap' cold water/ice from the american style fridge! It is a good stretch to the city centre but a pleasant walk across the park and through Holyrood, however, Sainsburys is just around the corner for daily messages. Bedrooms comfortable and flat is nice and warm. All in all, a great place to stay and we hope to be back, Thank you Alison

“Fantastic - better than the pictues - amazing owners!” This apartment was perfect for two couples. The location is phenomenal and could not be better - on the park at the foot of the Royal Mile. The owners were so nice and went way beyond the call of duty in helping us to get settled in. They provided so much service - we felt blessed and were treated like special guests. The apartment had everything we needed, especially in the kitchen. We were able to cook our own breakfast and dinner and just ate out during the day when we were out and about. The two bedrooms and two baths were great to have. The living - dining - kitchen area was perfect for us to live in while we were there. We hated to leave and cannot imagine trying to stay anywhere else in Edinburgh. Thanks so much, Petrea, for your hospitality!
