The Lothians region

Edinburgh, like Rome, is built on 7 hills, the most famous of them being the dorment volcano 'Arthur's Seat', Calton Hill and The Castle Rock. The Castle Rock has a 'tail' or ridge that was carved out by nature during the Ice age, it runs from Edinburgh Castle down to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and measures slightly more than 1 mile (Hence the name The Royal Mile). 1000 years ago this ridge became Edinburghs first road. Today, it is known as 'The Royal Mile'. The apartment is set halfway down this beautiful and ancient route. One of Europe's most beautiful Capital Cities, Edinburgh is the centre of Devolved Scottish Government, the second largest centre for European financial management after London and is home to the annual International Festival of the Arts and it's famous 'Fringe'.

There is so much to see in Edinburgh from the cobbled streets of the Old Town to the beautiful Georgian avenues of the New Town. it is a city of beautiful contrasts blending shopping, historic attractions, gardens and plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can relax.

Art Galleries, Museums, Theatres, Cinemas and Concert Halls contribute to a rich cultural life.

The City also plays regular host to many National & international sporting events and is a Mecca for shopping with many designer and specialist outlets.

There is a huge choice of venues for eating & drinking at every level and price imaginable.

Golf, swimming, Mounting biking, Hiking, Dry slope skiing, Histoical & ghost tours and the Dynamic Earth attraction are just some of the things to enjoy during your visit.

One visit will not be enough!

"Excellent location close to Royal Mile"

We loved the location of the accomodation. Although a little steep it was very close to The Royal Mile close to the Castle, great eating places, and shopping. We only had a couple of days so didn't explore further.

The flat had all amenities and although small was quite comfortable. The only drawback was very little space around the bed.

enjoyed our stay

"Great place to stay while visiting Edinburgh"

We truly enjoyed our stay in this apartment for several reasons. It is located in an ideal location, close to the Royal Mile, within easy walking distance of most of the top sites in Edinburgh. it provides a quiet refuge after a busy day of sightseeing. It truly felt like our home away from home with the extra touches the owner has provided. It is by far one of the best apartments we have let in our travels.

Oh thank you so much for leaving this feedback. We really take pride in ensuring our guests feel 'at home' when staying with us, so we are naturally delighted that you found it to “be the best apartment you stayed in during your travels!” We endeavour to make all of our guests very welcome from every corner of the globe. We would, therefore, be very happy to offer you the same hospitality again if you return to Edinburgh in the future! Wx

"Very Convenient!"

You couldn't ask for a better location! Right off the Royal Mile. My husband is on oxygen so we thought the ground floor apartment would be perfect, as he would not have to climb stairs, but this apartment is down an extremely steep road, and so he did have trouble coming and going from there, but otherwise it was perfect for us!

Thank you so much for leaving this review. I agree …the location is wonderful, but Edinburgh is hilly and the Royal Mile has especially steep streets and lots of steps all along it. I am sorry if this caused difficulty for your husband and his breathing. However, I am delighted you found it perfect otherwise. Many thanks! Wx

"Central Location"

Bedroom is small requiring you to turn sideways to get to one side of the bed. That's bothersome after a few days. One of us found bed to be comfortable (not hard or lumpy) other found it too spr… More

Thank you for your feedback. As the apartment's new owner, I really appreciate all of your comments and suggestions. I am glad you had good weather and were able to use the washing line, which I know previous guests have appreciated …. I will ensure there are plenty of pegs in future, as well as a clothes dryer! The location of the apartment is excellent, and I am delighted you made friends with our friendly 2 legged and 4 legged neighbours! The apartment has been laid out to ensure that the space is in the kitchen/ living area, rather than the bedroom. We agree that 16A Tron Square offers excellent value for money, and we would be delighted to welcome you back in future!
