VERY central, cosy and bright south facing 1 bedroom flat in a traditional one hundred year old tenement building, sleeping 4 people. Minutes walk away from both the city centre and Leith's fashionable waterfront area where you will find the Royal Yacht Britannia.

This is a bustling, vibrant area which offers an excellent variety of local shops, restaurants and bars. The Omni complex is also very close by which offers a further selection of bars, cinemas and health & sport facilities. A bus stop is at the end of the street from which you can catch a variety of buses to many areas of Edinburgh including Edinburgh Zoo and Murrayfield, the home of Scotland's Rugby, not to mention the beach at Portobello and the Horse Racing Course at Musselburgh.

The apartment would suit many different people (including couples looking for a romantic break, small groups or families) wanting to make the most of their visit to Edinburgh with ease of travelling in to the town centre.

Accommodation consists of a large and bright open plan livingroom with kitchen, a cosy shabby chic double bedroom, shower room and lots of storage. The tastefully decorated livingroom has a very comfortable double sofa bed. The property benefits from cable TV/DVD player, fridge with small freezer compartment, hob and combi microwave/oven/grill. Wifi is also available free of charge and there is also a travel cot available on request.

The property also boasts wooden sanded floors, a shared, south facing garden and unrestricted on street parking although a car is not necessary.

Edinburgh city centre is the hub of Scotland with rail, road, sea and air links allowing transportation throughout Scotland and beyond. This special capital city is approximately a 1 hour drive or less on the train from Perth where the 2014 Ryder Cup will be staged. Trains leave Waverley Station (which is a mere 10 minute walk away from this delightful apartment) for Glasgow city centre at regular intervals within the hour if you fancy a change of scenery, shopping and taking in the architectural delights the city has to offer.

A must while you are here is to take a train journey over the Forth Rail Bridge giving you dramatic views of the Forth Road Bridge.

There are numerous beaches within easy driving access or bus access which will give you a chance to sample the unique Scottish seaside atmosphere. Furthermore, a short bus journey will take you to Musselburgh Race Course where you can have a flutter on a horse over hurdles or flat racing, depending on the season.

Edinburgh is well and truly a 360 day a year holiday destination which will not disappoint no matter what your expectations are! On offer is superb sightseeing, a whole host of historic buildings to explore, quiet galleries and museums to intrigue you, thrilling new attractions to discover, serious shopping, a vast choice of excellent Restaurants, Bistros, Wine Bars, Pubs and Cafes, and nightlife to suit all tastes.

The climate in Edinburgh can be changeable and you are not guaranteed all day sun - even in the summer. Please come prepared for wet weather in all seasons. Snow is common in Winter but doesn't very often affect being able to get around the city.


The area in which the apartment is located is bustling and for a mere £3.50 per day you can enjoy unlimited bus travel from right outside the door of the accommodation to anywhere within Edinburgh and surrounding areas.

This apartment is enviably situated minutes walk away from the City Centre. It is set in a building that is over 100 years old and is ideally located for those wishing to explore Edinburgh on foot as most of the major sights are extremely close at hand.

Visitors will enjoy wandering along the Royal Mile and exploring the many small alleyways which are densely populated with attractive shops and restaurants. Alternatively, Calton Hill and it's many monuments are on your doorstep where the spectacular city views more than make up for the climb. If you have enough energy left, similar amazing views of the city can also be found at the top of Arthur's Seat. You may like to have a picnic on a nice day.

If you walk in the opposite direction to the city centre you will find yourself at the shore in the Leith area of the city. This is where you will find Her Majesty the Queens' former Yacht Britannia which for over 44 years served the Royal Family, travelling over one million miles to become the most famous ship in the world. Since 1997 the yacht has been moored in Leith and is now a visitors' attraction and can also be hired out for parties and events. On 29 July 2011, a cocktail party was held on board the Britannia for Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall to celebrate their upcoming wedding; the yacht had been hired for the occasion.
