The apartment has a dining room with table and 4/6 chairs. The fully equipped kitchen has a gas hob/oven, microwave and washing machine.

The master bedroom contains a double bed and a large sofa that converts into a double bed. The second bedroom also contains a double bed. Both bedrooms have TV's, DVD players and Freeview.

There is a family bathroom with bath and power shower. There is also a separate cloakroom/toilet to complete the accommodation.

Central heating is provided by a gas combination boiler.

For an additional £15 a high chair and travel cot can be provided for your use.

There are parking meters outside the property and parking is free from 6pm Saturday until 8am Monday morning. There is also a large car park only a few hundred yards away.

The famous Edinburgh Farmer's Market arrives on the first Saturday of every month and is only a stones throw away.

Check in is from 1pm-3pm and from 6pm-8pm. Check out is by 11am. This property offers a "meet and greet" service whereby you will be met at the property to provide keys and be shown the layout etc. Early arrival and late check out can be arranged. Additional cost will be determined by circumstance.

The Lothians region

The capital of Scotland and with many historic areas to visit. Our apartment is set within a few hundred yards of the Grassmarket where there are a variety of pubs and eating places.


The Edinburgh Festival runs for through July and August but there are many places to visit in close proximately to the apartment throughout the year. Princes St Gardens are within a few hundred yards as is Edinburgh's West End, The Kings Theatre and an Odeon Cinema.

"Great location but not recommended for families with young children"

We stayed two nights at 12 Spittal Street. Located only ten minutes by foot to the entrance of Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile and twelve minutes to the Princes Street Gardens, the apartment is in a great location. Even though the furnishings and modern kitchen were nice, we found the layout to be difficult with young children. There is no living room, besides a couch/futon situated in the larger bedroom and the small dining room was carpeted so I did not want my children to eat there. Two flights of spiral stairs precede the front door so that was also a challenge with strollers and gear. So before you rent, consider your situation and whether your party would be comfortable here.

"Modern Accommodation in Great Central Location"

We were met at the apartment and shown around and informed how everything worked. There was a welcome pack of biscuits, toohthbrushes (just in case!) and there was also tea, coffee and sugar in the apartment.
The property was quite modern in it's decor and finish, unfortunately there is no lounge or real social area, so you need to bear that in mind. Despite being central (just off the Grassmarket), it was quite quiet so we got good night's sleep.
Do not be put off by the number of gentleman's clubs around, there are also some lovely restaurants and bars, we did not have any issues with the other local businesses.
I would definitely stay again at Dunlop properties, possibly would stay in the Bread St as opposed to the Spittal St apartment as the Bread St apartment (our friends were staying here so we visited) has a larger kitchen with dining area in the kitchen so it's just a bit more social, althought it may be noisier as is on a busier road.
Great apartments in a great location at a great price, highly recommend!
