Relax in our lovely large traditional Edinburgh Apartment, with high ceilings, wooden floors, comfortable beds and a well fitted kitchen. Walk or take a bus to the city center, enjoy the children's play park and wide open spaces in the meadows less than 5 minutes from the flat, and return for peace and quiet in your own space. Our guests tell us they love the location and are very comfortable in the well appointed flat. Free wifi is included in the rental as are towels and linen - lovely white cotton linen that you would expect to find in high quality hotels.

Gladstone Apartment is ideal for city breaks to explore historic Edinburgh and the festivals, for visiting friends and family in the area, and for professional visits for work and conferences. Edinburgh University is close by, just across the Meadows. The flat is on the ground floor (US: First Floor) and so very accessible - it is a favourite with eldery guests who find stairs difficult and also with parents of young children who appreciate not having to carry the buggy upstairs.

The flat has large rooms and plenty of space. Two large leather sofa's in the living room, a bay window overlooking the private front garden you can use, and a gas fire for the days when you don't need full central heating. Both bedrooms have double beds, and we have a mothercare child's cot and a high chair available on request. The windows have wooden shutters, which can be secured at night and keep the warmth in during winter. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering and there are many takeaways and restaurants nearby for when you don't want to cook. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it and a high powered shower in a separate cubicle. There is a separate loo so you don't have to wait for someone taking ages in the bathroom!

Travel to the flat is very easy - we include directions to the flat on our website, and also on the booking confirmation document. The no 41 bus from Waverley Train Station passes close tot he flat, airport transfers can be set up, and onstreet car parking is available on Gladstone Terrace outside the flat.

Marchmont Self Catering is family run, we have our two flats which were our homes in Edinburgh before we moved to live together in a small village just outside the city. We have both traveled widely and have tried to include everything we would love to find in a self catering cottage or apartment when we travel.

The flat was just perfect. Clean, large and with all amendities. Sue gave us a very warm welcome with a personal touch. Very pleasant. I hope to come back at the same spot in a few years. Groceries and beer store were close by, as well as a few take out restaurants and a park. Thanks for a wonderful time in this great city.

Gladstone is perfectly placed to experience the wonderful city of Edinburgh.

A well-equipped, spacious and characterful apartment in a favourable location, Gladstone is within comfortable walking distance of the city centre and all its attractions.

The apartment has a very pleasant outlook -both front and rear and a wonderful parkland area just over the road from the bottom of the street, which includes an excellent play park for children, together with tennis courts.

The ground floor apartment is perfect for small families (2 double bedrooms) and couples alike with a choice of dining areas.

For those wishing to self cater, there are convenience stores, cafes, takeaways and delis just a short walk from Gladstone.

Comes highly recommended.

This apartment is in a great location. Quiet neighborhood but close to the town center. Walk to the Grassmarket in about 15 minutes. On the 1st floor and easily accessible for people who have trouble with stairs. Spacious rooms and a great kitchen fairly well equipped. Sue was a wonderful host!
