About this location

The Cumbria region

Ambleside is a friendly lively market town in the heart of the Lake District National Park.

Here you will find exclusive shops, top notch restaurants, traditional pubs with open fires, cinemas, tennis, crazy golf, bike hire, tourist board, the Armitt museums, steamer on lake with cruises, waterfall, Roman remains etc etc

A fantastic place for a hiking holiday or relaxing with a bit of culture & 'me' time!

Surprisingly, it is often sunny up here when raining down south & even if cloudy you can head to the hills and warm yourself with a bit of exercise - then enjoy a hot soup or a glass of something from your backpack..

Christmas lights, spring flower festival, live jazz nights etc etc

Edinboro is a row of old 18th century traditional Bobbin maker cottages quietly set above Stock Ghyll Force, just off the Kirkstone Road which leads up to one of the oldest and highest inns in England
