"do not rent"
We found this cottage dirty had to Hoover, dusts and clean out the log burning fire before we could even have a cup of tea. There were no instructions as to getting hot water and when we put the boiler… More
River View Cottage is nearly 200 years old and naturally has an "aged" smell that is more noticeable to some of our guests than others, especially if the cottage hasn't been occupied in the previous week or two. But opening the windows and letting some of the fresh Cumbrian air into the cottage soon freshens it up.
We are sorry that the cleanliness wasn't up to your standards, but I can reassure you that everything is cleaned before your stay and perhaps the wood-burner was missed on this occasion.
Some of the rooms were re-painted the following week and the carpets professionally cleaned, we're sorry this didn't coincide with your stay.
There are full instructions next to the boiler and the simple toggle on/off system is fairly self-explanatory. But in light of your comments, the annual boiler service will be brought forward.
