The Eden Island region
Mahe is the main island of the Seychelles.
This is where all services are located and where about 80% of the population live. The capital Victoria is located here and so is the main port and airport.
The bustling fresh produce market is open every day and fresh mostly home grown produce is excellent value for money. Fresh herbs and spices are widely used in Creole cooking, so expect the wonderful aromas of curries, cardamom, fresh vanilla and nutmeg at the market. Fresh fish is sold at the market as well as right outside the Eden Bridge at one of the many street vendors.
Mahe’ has more than 70 beaches. Pristine white sand, clear turquoise water and an incredible variety of tropical fish makes this a most desired destination and of course the mountains are simply some of the lushest in the world. The sea surrounding Mahe offers some of the best dive sites in the Indian Ocean and there are many world class dive and fishing operations based on Mahe. This is the most significant mid ocean granitic island, so expect a wide range of endemic flora and fauna here.
As the weather is always pleasantly tropical, ranging between 24° C to 31° C and lying well outside the cyclone belt, Island hopping via airplane, helicopter, ferry, chartered boat, yacht, motorboat or even fishing boat is very popular.
Eden Island is a beautiful marina development set to the east of Mahe only minutes away from the capital of Victoria and 10 minutes from the main international airport. It is connected by bridge to Mahe'.
Eden Island currently boasts two beaches, beautiful snorkeling sites with spectacular corals, a state of the art gym, two communal swimming pools, a club house, a fabulous restaurant with entertainment and a small, but well stocked delicatessen for all your self-catering needs. The Deli also sells a wide range of international wines. As an Eden Island home owner/ guest you will have access to the largest importer of the most incredible food and wines from around the globe.
Proximity of the Mahe' International Airport, the capital Victoria, world famous beaches and a wide range of restaurants serving anything from Creole food to the freshest catch of the day, all contribute to make this a very enviable location. The very friendly and helpful staff at the VMA (Village Management Association) on Eden Island provide a "concierge" service and is available to assist you with all enquiries, bookings, advice etc.
Magnificent snorkeling/diving sites with live coral are within walking distance or short EPV ride from the maison. Your yacht or boat can be moored right in front of the maison.
Home to super-yachts, leisure craft and private boats from across the globe, the Eden Island Marina is one of only a handful island marinas deep enough to harbour luxury yachts up to 100 meters in length – entering the marina right in front of the veranda!
We have many amazing sightings from our jetty - the kids even started naming the Spotted Eagle Rays that come to visit every day! Green turtles, Scorpion fish, Parrot fish, colourful crabs and many more beautiful sea creatures are spotted on a regular basis from the jetty.
As the Seychelles revolves around water activities you will be delighted to have access to a motor boat and an experienced skipper who will introduce you to some of the world renowned diving sites, safe snorkelling in the nearby Saint Anne Nature Reserve or to explore the many secluded beaches. (Price available upon request) Safe snorkeling is also possible just off the beaches on Eden Island - walking distance away.
A magical island that you won't want to leave!

This is a very nice place with own small pool and gorgeous water view and 1 minute walk from the beach. Although that Mason is used for renting for long time, it is very clean, comfortable and tidy place, thanks to daily cleaning. All necessary appliance is provided by owners and extra fridge is very helpful. We found only two small minuses: 1. I was never had a high opinion about Miele, and it's seems to be true, because, the drying and washing machines are close to death. 2. There is no Wi-Fi in the house.

"Hands down best accommodation in the Seychelles!"
Our family had a lovely vacation last summer on Eden Island, and then we went back again a few months later! Seychelles is beautiful of course, and Eden Island is perfect for our family. But the condo made the vacation especially nice. 2 luxury bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. Modern kitchen with all the appliances, and a stunning view off of the deck. We cooked some, had takeout from the restaurants and even hired a chef one night for not much money. The kids loved playing in the pool, and seeing the fish right in the ocean. The support of the housekeeper was stunning, and she was full of energy and helpful advice. When contemplating our visit we weighed up expensive resorts with small rooms and large stand alone villas with lots of maintenance/location issues. Without a doubt this new, spacious 3 bedroom villa with it's own pool and golf cart, 2 minutes walk from a beach, 2 playgrounds nearby, tennis courts and restaurants etc. was the best option for us and our small children. In addition it's location 10 minutes from the airport was ideal and being able to organise the rental car delivery to Eden Island itself was hugely helpful. We did need to be wary of the dangers that the pool and marina and balcony presented for our kids but having the glass doors locked when we weren't all outside was not an issue. We were able to explore the wonders of Mahe during the day in our rental car and return to this beautiful haven. We have planned a third trip this fall and are sure it won't be our last.

"Paradise, exactly like it says on the label!"
This was our second stay at this same rental, just in a different "season"; in the Seychelles the weather seems great year round, with the change in season only marked by a bit more rain (welcome in the heat). The "maison" was (on both occasions) perfect as ordered. We were impressed that is so VERY well kitted out with a clean, modern ambience: tastefully decorated with all comforts and appliances. Everything worked properly and was clean and well maintained. Really great base to explore the Seychelles from: very good value for money compared to the very expensive hotels. It is also perfectly positioned, on the marina with great views of the main Island (Mahe) and the activity in the yacht basin, whilst still being very private. The pool and the private jetty makes for a perfect time at home too, and there is a fantastic beach just behind the house. The estate is secure, very pretty with well maintained gardens and walkways and a lovely club house, restaurants and tennis court. We loved the fact that no cars were allowed, you get your own golf cart! All-on-all a great find. Recommendations: Get an island wi-fi access card when you arrive. Also there is a great scuba diving operation (Angel) by the bridge that connects the island to the mainland. This bridge is also a good place to buy fresh fish when the fishermen comes in from about 10:00 in the morning (on the far side of the bridge). Lastly, the restaurant at the bridge serves great pizza, and there is a good wine shop close to it (limited selection but we found some great wines). There is so much to do just on the main island alone, so I recommend getting a good guide book and pick what interests you.
