Enquire nowThe South East England / Sussex region
Eastbourne is on the South Downs which is a beautiful part of Sussex, close to Beachy Head with its lovely walks and wonderful views. Eastbourne is surrounded by countryside, but is also convenient with Brighton being only half an hours drive away. Brighton has excellent shopping and an excellent nightlight. There are a multitude of tourist attractions nearby including Wadhurst Llama Park, Lewes Wildfowl and motor museum, and Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway, Brighton Sea Life Centre and Hastings Castle.
A great place to visit for the kids is druscillas zoo in Alfriston, which is about 15 minutes from Eastbourne.
This was voted the best kids day out in sussex. and is absolutely fantastic, with loads to do for kids of all ages.

The Eastbourne area
Eastbourne is a large town, with excellent shops, bars and restaurants. The town has a large beach and pier, and also two entertainment parks for the kids which are located on the sea front ; Treasure Island has a huge large pirate ship to climb over, and an outside swimming pool which is paddling height, but has a large sand area to play in and a huge picnic area for the adults to sit and read a magazine with a cafe for food or snacks. It also has mini golf and an indoor area with a soft play area and slot machines and other 'pier type' slot machine games. Fort fun is the other 'park' has fairground type rides, with a run away train, little motor bikes, spinning tea cups, carousel etc. and you can either pay for a day, or by individual rides. Eastbourne Miniature Railway is also great and really reasonable. You sit on a little train and it goes round the park, and it also has a great outside play area with loads of things to keep the kids amused, including a maze to get lost in!!!!
As mentioned in another area on our page, we can' forget Druscilla Zoo which is fab and only 15 minutes from Eastbourne. Check out their website: http://www.drusillas.co.uk
There is also a new marina for boat spotters, which also has a range of bars and restaurants. There is a large sports centre nearby, with swimming pool with wave machine. A large tennis tournament takes place in June, with Airborne flying show taking place Mid August - including performances by the world famous Red Devils.

The house was perfect for our needs , a well equipped kitchen with a large table we can all sit around , comfortable lounge for chilling in the evenings The bedrooms had ample storage for all our clothes and the family bathroom was bright and modern You can see the sea from the front bedroom windows and are on the promenade in less than one minute , Eastbourne and the surrounding areas has so much to offer , we enjoyed Drusillas, Blackberry farm, Hertsmonseux castle and science museum , Fortfun and the splash park in princes park. The house was very fairly priced , its not luxurious but did have everything we needed and was very child friendly , they loved playing hide and seek in the many rooms If you are looking for a bargain and homely place to stay then this will fit the bill. I found communications with Susan the owner second to none , she answered any questions very quickly and we were given fantastic information about the house and where to visit and eat in the area , she also welcomed feedback on our return and returned the deposit quickly |

What a fantastic place to stay in Eastbourne. House is clean and comfortable (not luxurious) with loads of bedrooms and bathrooms, perfect for all the kids and grandma. Great range of equipment if you want to stay in and cook plus loads of restaurants for eating out. Convenience store at the end of the street next door to the fish and chip shop (cod was fantastic). Easy flat walk into the town centre where all the usual stores can be found and only a stones throw from the beach. We had a great holiday and really enjoyed staying in such a fab house, wish I could afford to buy one that size. |
