The South East England region

Officially the sunniest spot in the UK, Eastbourne was voted Britain’s number one holiday-friendly destination in a survey by Virgin Money Travel Insurance.

This award-winning seaside resort nestles at the foot of the South Downs and Beachy Head, with unbeatable walking and cycling to be enjoyed. Located just 25 miles from Brighton, and 17 miles from Hastings, Eastbourne attracts almost 5 million visitors each year.

Eastbourne

Whether you fancy taking in a West End show or concert at Eastbourne’s fabulous bandstand, enjoying a stroll on the pier, roller skating along the promenade or even having a go at some water sports, Eastbourne can offer it all.

The charming town centre has a surprising number of excellent restaurants and a good selection of shops to while away a few hours – including a Museum of Shops. There is also the excellent contemporary Towner art gallery, plus four theatres, bars and clubs.

It’s also a family friendly resort – to keep the kids entertained, the Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway, Treasure Island and Fort Fun offer plenty of entertainment, including rides, crazy golf and go-karting, and there are bags of further attractions to visit within the surrounding region.

Our lovely clean, pebble beach has been featured on TV as exceptionally family friendly. KidzSafe waterproof identification wristbands are supplied free of charge so that parents can tag children with their mobile phone numbers. The pier offers traditional seaside amusements and if you’re trying to drag them away, Fusciardi’s ice-creams are unsurpassed as bribery!

Eastbourne has something for everyone – whether you’re looking for a traditional seaside holiday or a culture break.

The idyllic village of East Dean is the gateway to The South Downs National Park, adjacent to Beachy Head, Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters.

It is a fantastic location for walkers, cyclists and holidaymakers seeking a relaxed location set in beautiful countryside. The nearest beach is at Birling Gap, just one mile away, while Eastbourne town centre is just a couple of miles drive.

Steeped in history, with strong Saxon and Norman influences, the flint church and cricket green, with its regular open-air market, offer quintessentially English treats. There is a great pub on the green which people visit from miles around – The Tiger Inn serves up tasty lunches and evening meals and you can enjoy your meal overlooking the green when the sun is shining. Or if you feel like something more exotic, there’s also a Thai restaurant on the green.

East Dean has a small selection of village shops, including a post office, hairdressers and grocers, as well as a doctor’s surgery.

"Fabulous family home with beautiful gardens"

We stayed for a few nights at the end March/beginning April 2013. Travelled with a 6 month old baby and two older children. Booking was easy, provision of cot and high chair very helpful. The house… More

Hi there and thanks for such a lovely review.
Great to hear that you and your family enjoyed the house and the gardens.
The owners have tried to make it very liveable - thinking of the practicalities as well as the fab swimming pool which always goes down very well in the warmer months - I hope you get the chance to come back in the warmer months :)
