Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 5
Crowlink Corner is a secluded, beguiling 2-bedroom cottage in the breathtaking scenery of the South Downs which was formerly a favoured hideaway of famous ballerinas!
Officially in the hamlet of Crowlink (next to East Dean village and around four miles from Eastbourne), the cottage provides complete tranquility - ideal for writers, creative types or anyone simply wishing to get away from it all. If you have a 4x4 or capable car you can drive across a field to get to the cottage - otherwise you leave the car in the nearby National Trust car park and walk across a field to your remote hideaway.
Inside cottage is beautifully presented and includes all the modern luxuries needed to make your rural retreat feel deliciously pampered - a huge flatscreen TV with full Sky TV package, WiFi, fabulous sound system and glorious furnishings.
One bedroom is a double, and the other is a twin, and with a chairbed available, this cottage can fit a family of five. Both bedrooms are ensuite and there is a separate room with a big roll top bath for the ultimate indulgence...
Outside is even more magical. You have your own secret garden that is completely hidden from view, complete with raised sundeck where Margot Fontaine and Rudolph Nureyev used to sunbathe when visiting their Royal Ballet friends that owned the property at that time. Complete the picture with lily pond, barbecue area and stunning views over the South Downs to Belle Tout lighthouse and the sea beyond, and you start to get a feel for how wonderful this is as an escape.

About this location
The East Sussex region
Crowlink Corner is in the glorious South Downs in Sussex. Beautiful countryside surrounds the area, including the lovely Friston Forest – great for cycling, walking and picnics.
The idyllic village of East Dean is just a short walk away from the cottage and has a selection of shops, including a post office, grocery store, delicatessen, award-winning butcher and a weekly farmer's market (Wednesdays). There is also a doctor's surgery and hairdresser. The Tiger Inn on the village green serves up tasty lunches and evening meals and, if you fancy something more exotic, there's the fabulous Thai Terre restaurant.
The nearest beach is at Birling Gap which is a short drive away (7 mins). The facilities at Birling Gap are owned and run by the National Trust, including a café and regular activities for adults and children, such as nature walks and rock-pooling.
Eastbourne is just 5 miles away and is easily accessible by car or by bus (these stop regularly by the pond on the nearby A259). There you can enjoy four theatres, cinema, an art gallery, a wealth of restaurants, cafes and bars. Brighton, with an even bigger selection of shops and restaurants, and a very active nightlife, is just 18 miles away.

Thank you so much for the warm words on Crowlink Corner - it really is the most amazing place, isn't it?
The location is truly special, offering complete seclusion and sensational views over the rolling countryside of the South Downs National Park to the Belle Toute lighthouse and the sea beyond.
I hope you make it back for a third visit :)
