The property is split over three floors with lounge, dining room and kitchen / breakfast room on the ground floor, with the bedrooms and bathrooms split over first and second floors.
The lounge is very nicely decorated and comfortably equipped with a two large leather sofas, an armchair and a leather pouffee which would be suitable for a child to sit on. It is full of period features ie. ceiling rose, cornices, fully working cast iron fireplace, and has a 32 inch LCD TV.
The dining room has a lovely dining table with 8 leather chairs, and has high ceilings, cast Iron fireplace, chandelier and is a lovely room to eat in. The dining room leads directly to the kitchen, which is navigated by going down two steps (with hand rail).
The kitchen is one of the best features of the property as it is 20 feet, with separate cooking and eating areas , and with a sofa at one end. The kitchen has a pine table which seats 8, and the kitchen is equipped with washer dryer, dishwasher and microwave etc. The double glazed doors from the kitchen open onto a courtyard garden which is equipped with bar-be-que, large table and chairs etc and is a real sun-trap.
There are two toy boxes in the kitchen, a high chair, and a baby bouncer that you can place your baby in (ie material bouncer on a Z metal frame). We also have a padded changing mat, travel cot and potty, so hopefully, this will reduce the amount of kids 'stuff' you need to bring!
Please note, the kitchen diner is accessed via the hall or the dining room, and is a further two steps down from the hall or dining room need to be navigated. Therefore, it is not suitable for disabled guests or guests not able to navigate these two stairs easily. There is no toilet on the ground floor.
First floor accommodation is as follows:
Master bedroom, with a separate dressing area housing triple wardrobe and a vanity unit (with sink) and full length mirror which is accessed from the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a King size iron bed and has sea views, and stripped pine floors. It is a lovely large, bright and airy room with lots of period features.
Bedroom 2 - Double bedroom with feature fireplace, with it's own en suite shower room with a shower cubicle with electric shower , toilet and sink.
Main family bathroom (newly refubished with Travertine stone floor tiles etc) with white suite encompassing toilet, sink and bath with hand held chrome shower attachment..
Second floor accommodation is as follows:
Bedroom 3 - Large bedroom with double bed, vanity unit (including sink), large feature fireplace.
Bedroom 4 - Small single with vanity unit (including sink).
Bedroom 5 - Double bedroom with feature fireplace and it's own en suite shower room with electric shower in a shower cubicle, sink and toilet.
Bedroom 6 - Single bedroom with vanity unit (including sink).
We provide a fold up single bed to accommodate an 11th person.
Please note, the property is not suitable for disabled people, or people who cannot get up stairs to get to the bathroom, as there is no downstairs toilet.
The property has double glazing and central heating and has newly fitted carpets in most of the bedrooms and stairs and landing. We have made a real effort for the house to feel homely and to make the best of the victorian features. We have spent a considerable amount of money furnishing the house with a good standard of furniture to make the house look it's best and so you enjoy your stay. If you have any queries regarding the standard of accommodation, or if you have any queries regarding the property, please contact the owner prior to booking the property.
Due to the size of the accommodation, it is great for large families or parties with large numbers due to the size of the accommodation. We have stayed in the house with 10 family and friends, and you can still have your own space and not feel cramped in any way.
Parking is on the road outside (there is no allocated parking space).

The East Sussex region
Eastbourne is on the South Downs which is a beautiful part of Sussex, close to Beachy Head with its lovely walks and wonderful views. Eastbourne is surrounded by countryside, but is also convenient with Brighton being only half an hours drive away. Brighton has excellent shopping and an excellent nightlight. There are a multitude of tourist attractions nearby including Wadhurst Llama Park, Lewes Wildfowl and motor museum, and Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway, Brighton Sea Life Centre and Hastings Castle.
A great place to visit for the kids is druscillas zoo in Alfriston, which is about 15 minutes from Eastbourne.
This was voted the best kids day out in sussex. and is absolutely fantastic, with loads to do for kids of all ages.

Eastbourne is a large town, with excellent shops, bars and restaurants. The town has a large beach and pier, and also two entertainment parks for the kids which are located on the sea front ; Treasure Island has a huge large pirate ship to climb over, and an outside swimming pool which is paddling height, but has a large sand area to play in and a huge picnic area for the adults to sit and read a magazine with a cafe for food or snacks. It also has mini golf and an indoor area with a soft play area and slot machines and other 'pier type' slot machine games. Fort fun is the other 'park' has fairground type rides, with a run away train, little motor bikes, spinning tea cups, carousel etc. and you can either pay for a day, or by individual rides. Eastbourne Miniature Railway is also great and really reasonable. You sit on a little train and it goes round the park, and it also has a great outside play area with loads of things to keep the kids amused, including a maze to get lost in!!!!
As mentioned in another area on our page, we can' forget Druscilla Zoo which is fab and only 15 minutes from Eastbourne. Check out their website: http://www.drusillas.co.uk
There is also a new marina for boat spotters, which also has a range of bars and restaurants. There is a large sports centre nearby, with swimming pool with wave machine. A large tennis tournament takes place in June, with Airborne flying show taking place Mid August - including performances by the world famous Red Devils.

"Good but could have been better"
the place was in a excellant location, but the house was starting to look tired and needs to be freshened up. The washing machine was washer only not as advertised washer/dryer which did make drying our clothes a little harder. The rooms looked clean in the main area but under beds, etc it needed more attension. If you are parking there is street parking but due to the location you may have to park further away from the house
Overall it was good but needed more for the price you pay.
This holiday maker booked right at the end of the summer season ie first two weeks in September, so the property will have had a large number of holiday makers during the summer season. We do re-decorate just before the start of the summer season, but by the end of the summer, we do appreciate that some of the paintwork could probably do with touching up.
We did have to change the washer dryer to a new washer part way through the summer season as the previous one broke down. However, we provide a clothes airer and a washing line to dry clothes.
Just before the start of the summer season, we have the property thoroughly cleaned for a number of days, including shampooing all the carpets etc. The property is also professionally cleaned between when holiday makers stay. Admittedly, the cleaners do not move the beds and clean under them between stays, as there is only so much time to clean between stays, and it is a 6 bedroom very large house.
The price this holiday maker paid was £500 per week for a 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom house in a prime location with sea views in height of the season. I don't know what to say if this holiday maker believes he did not get good value for money at that kind of rental rate. Words escape me!

Walking distance to a lot of places, included bus/train-stop.
Close to beach, pier, shops. Seaview!
Nice flat with many bedrooms.
All we needed was included (except wifi).
Thank you for your comments. As you state, the property is ideally situated so that you can walk to the beach (end of the road) shops, restaurants, pier and various attractions. We are sorry that you felt the mattress in the main bedroom was a little hard, as this is an orthopaedic mattress and having slept on this myself the week before, I (and others) have found this extremely comfortable. The support leg underneath the bed does not stand straight for some reason, but it is not broken. Thank you for your kind comments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay, especially the Seaviews.

"5 mums , 6 kids , perfect for our needs"
The house was perfect for our needs , a well equipped kitchen with a large table we can all sit around , comfortable lounge for chilling in the evenings
The bedrooms had ample storage for all our clothes and the family bathroom was bright and modern
You can see the sea from the front bedroom windows and are on the promenade in less than one minute ,
Eastbourne and the surrounding areas has so much to offer , we enjoyed Drusillas, Blackberry farm, Hertsmonseux castle and science museum , Fortfun and the splash park in princes park.
The house was very fairly priced , its not luxurious but did have everything we needed and was very child friendly , they loved playing hide and seek in the many rooms
If you are looking for a bargain and homely place to stay then this will fit the bill.
I found communications with Susan the owner second to none , she answered any questions very quickly and we were given fantastic information about the house and where to visit and eat in the area , she also welcomed feedback on our return and returned the deposit quickly

What a fantastic place to stay in Eastbourne. House is clean and comfortable (not luxurious) with loads of bedrooms and bathrooms, perfect for all the kids and grandma. Great range of equipment if you want to stay in and cook plus loads of restaurants for eating out. Convenience store at the end of the street next door to the fish and chip shop (cod was fantastic). Easy flat walk into the town centre where all the usual stores can be found and only a stones throw from the beach. We had a great holiday and really enjoyed staying in such a fab house, wish I could afford to buy one that size.
