Welcome to Shorelarks B&B - we are special as we only take one family-group at a time, upto x4 in the house, with a touring caravan on-site as an "annex" for a group of up to x7 over the summer; and we are suitable for those with limited mobility. (Please note the B&B header price is for two people per night - please see below for minimum booking periods and prices for larger groups and ask for an amended quote). Shorelarks is a small, characterful 1930s cottage-style property on a quiet private road. We are 3 minutes level walk from the beach, and 5 minutes from East Wittering village centre with a selection of traditional shops, cafes and the inn. The house was refurbished in 2014, including new bathrooms and full redecoration. It is our family home, and we enjoy welcoming visitors to this unspoilt corner of the south coast; (and ignore bad weather forecasts - we have a microclimate here!) Our ground-floor guest suite has a cosy double (king size bed) room (£80pn), plus single/very small twin bedded room next door (£40-£60pn), and the two rooms share the adjacent private shower-room (large walk-in shower). We can provide a travel cot, fridge & microwave if needed, and a child in a cot is half-price. There is a large guest lounge / dining room, where you are welcome to use our board games and to eat supper take-aways; and as we only take one family at a time children are genuinely welcome. Up to x7 guests welcome if using our caravan too; £60-£70pn. We have quiet off-road parking (where your dog could easily sleep in your car), and secure storage for surf boards, wet-suits and bicycles. There are very few B&Bs in this area, and weekends in the summer are very busy - as we are so small we take minimum 2 night bookings for the double room only, or at least £135 spend (ie both rooms if booking for 1 night). We also have a minimum 2 night booking policy during all school holidays; and both rooms may be booked together as singles subject to a minimum 2 night stay - please ask for special rates for this and/or for use of the caravan (which sleeps 2-3).

The West Sussex region
West Sussex abounds with seaside, countryside and cultural opportunities. There is an excellent public bus and train service so a car is not essential. Trips can be made easily to Chichester, Arundel, Portsmouth and Brighton for example. The South Downs Way is a popular walking and cycling route just north of Chichester, and the Goodwood estate, with its many events, is also within easy reach. A day trip to the Isle of Wight can also be easily arranged.
For the more adventurous, there is the possibility of flying light aircraft, power boat trips on the Solent, hot air ballooning and helicopter rides!
The Selsey Peninsula (also known as the Manhood Peninsula!) is an ideal location for cycling, fishing, walking, sailing and birdwatching. The Witterings beach front offers internationally renowned facilities for surf-boarding, kite-surfing, paddle-boarding and sea kayaking, as well as the idyllic blue flag sand beaches.
For those wanting more leisurely pursuits, theatres, Cathedral concerts, cinemas, restaurants and art galleries are all available in nearby Chichester.
East Wittering is a small, traditional seaside village with everything you need for a relaxing break; shore-line pub, a variety of restaurants, independent cafes and shops, banks, post office and chemists. Shorelarks B & B is only 3 minutes walk from the beach, and 5 minutes walk from the village centre.

"What more could you want!"
Very Clean comfortable rooms, with friendly and helpful owners. The breakfasts were fantastic and would most certainly book again.
Thank you so much, and we look forward to seeing all four of you again. (Apologies for the slight confusion over booking; our prices are correctly detailed in our property description, but unfortunately HL recently "simplified" and inflexible pricing structure - designed for home lets not B&B - automatically quotes for only two guests now!) With best wishes, Denise

"A warm welcome"
This was our second stay at Shorelarks, and was even more pleasant as it had the feeling of returning to somewhere nicely familiar, but with lots of anticipated fun ahead seeing the places we didn't have time for last visit. We had a lovely warm welcome and everything was very comfortable and clean. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, with helpful enquiries before our stay as to any special dietary requests we might have. This is such a pretty and interesting area that we again found ourselves planning our next trip in the middle of this one - we will be back , and have no hesitation in recommending Shorelarks.

"A really relaxing and recharging stay"
My husband and I enjoyed a stay at the Shorelarks B & B around this time last year when it was newly opened by Paul and Denise. This year we were to enjoy an even more comfortable stay as Denise and Paul have actively been putting time, effort and thought in to how to make the facilities even better for their guests. Commendable improvements included dedicating the ground floor of the house for the use of the guests. So now the guest bedrooms are downstairs with a very pleasant family bathroom on this floor . Paul & Denise have given over their living room downstairs for the use and comfort of the B & B guests. This is a new facility and proved very pleasant and relaxing. With a television, comfortable sofa and chairs, dining table and lots of stimulating books, this family living room is a real delight.. Food was delicious and our stay was comfortable and relaxing.

"Comfortable, convenient and classy"
My husband and I stayed two nights and enjoyed the proximity to beach walks (less than 5 mins to the sea) and the South Downs north of Chichester. Denise was very welcoming and we enjoyed the lovely continental breakfast with fresh coffee, home made bread, fruit salad and preserves.

"We are very pleased we chose to stay at 'Shorelarks'! It was excellent!"
Denise and Paul are very welcoming and helpful hosts with an attention for detail. They provided plenty of local information, with ideas for outings with the rest of our family who were camping with their children nearby. ( In all, we were 7 adults and 5 children). The accommodation is very clean and comfortable, with tasteful decor, in a quiet location. We especially enjoyed Denise's choice of original artwork throughout the house. We also appreciated the fresh milk in the fridge in our room for early morning tea, and the delicious hot chocolate sachets at night - the cotton bathrobes too! The continental breakfast was great, with differing blends of fruit in the salad each morning. First Class!
