Welcome - we are special as we only take one family-group at a time, (plus a caravan on-site as an optional "annex" for a larger group over the summer ) and we are suitable for those with limited mobility, so please read more ...

.... Shorelarks Family Bed & Breakfast is a small, characterful 1930s cottage-style property on a quiet private road. We are only 3 minutes level walk from the beach, and 5 minutes from East Wittering village centre with a selection of traditional shops, cafes and The Shore Inn. The house was totally refurbished in 2014, including new bathrooms and full redecoration. It is our family home, and we enjoy welcoming visitors to this unspoilt corner of the south coast.

Our ground-floor family suite has a double (king size bed) room, plus single / twin bedded room next door, and the two rooms share the adjacent private shower-room (large walk-in shower). We can provide a travel cot, fridge & microwave if needed, and a child in a cot is half-price. There is a large guest lounge / dining room, where you are welcome to use our board games and to eat supper take-aways; and as we only take one family at a time children are genuinely welcome. We have quiet off-road parking (where your dog could easily sleep in your car), and secure storage for surf boards, wet-suits and bicycles.

There are very few B&Bs in this area, and weekends and the summer are very busy - please try and book us well in advance - if you book for a full week we will give you the 7th night for free! Check-in 4 -7pm; check-out by 10am please.

NB; as we are so small we take minimum 2 night bookings for the double room only, or at least £135 spend (ie both rooms if booking for 1 night). We also have a minimum 2 night booking policy during all school holidays. Both rooms may be booked together as singles subject to a minimum 2 night stay; please ask for special rates for this, and for use of the caravan.

The West Sussex region

West Sussex abounds with seaside, countryside and cultural opportunities. There is an excellent public bus and train service so a car is not essential. Trips can be made easily to Chichester, Arundel, Portsmouth and Brighton for example. The South Downs Way is a popular walking and cycling route just north of Chichester, and the Goodwood estate, with its many events, is also within easy reach. A day trip to the Isle of Wight can also be easily arranged.

For the more adventurous, there is the possibility of flying light aircraft, power boat trips on the Solent, hot air ballooning and helicopter rides!

East Wittering

The Selsey Peninsula (also known as the Manhood Peninsula!) is an ideal location for cycling, fishing, walking, sailing and birdwatching. The Witterings beach front offers internationally renowned facilities for surf-boarding, kite-surfing, paddle-boarding and sea kayaking, as well as the idyllic blue flag sand beaches.

For those wanting more leisurely pursuits, theatres, Cathedral concerts, cinemas, restaurants and art galleries are all available in nearby Chichester.

East Wittering is a small, traditional seaside village with everything you need for a relaxing break; shore-line pub, a variety of restaurants, independent cafes and shops, banks, post office and chemists. Shorelarks B & B is only 3 minutes walk from the beach, and 5 minutes walk from the village centre.

"Holiday hideaway."

We stayed 2 nights at Shorelarks whilst attending a family event. It's hidden in a private estate, not far from the sea. Parking is provided for guests, which is good. Our room was clean and tidy… More

"Comfortable, convenient and classy"

My husband and I stayed two nights and enjoyed the proximity to beach walks (less than 5 mins to the sea) and the South Downs north of Chichester. Denise was very welcoming and we enjoyed the lovely continental breakfast with fresh coffee, home made bread, fruit salad and preserves.

"We are very pleased we chose to stay at 'Shorelarks'! It was excellent!"

Denise and Paul are very welcoming and helpful hosts with an attention for detail. They provided plenty of local information, with ideas for outings with the rest of our family who were camping with their children nearby. ( In all, we were 7 adults and 5 children). The accommodation is very clean and comfortable, with tasteful decor, in a quiet location. We especially enjoyed Denise's choice of original artwork throughout the house. We also appreciated the fresh milk in the fridge in our room for early morning tea, and the delicious hot chocolate sachets at night - the cotton bathrobes too! The continental breakfast was great, with differing blends of fruit in the salad each morning. First Class!
