Home description
This stunning apartment commands one of the best river views in London’s beautifully developed Docklands directly overlooking the Thames, Greenwich and the Royal Naval College. Set on this lively section of river but in its own peaceful complex it is just seconds from the iconic Greenwich foot tunnel, mere minutes from the historical beauty and lively nightlife of Greenwich itself, and a short DLR (Docklands Light Railway) ride from the busy bars, cafes, restaurants and shopping outlets of the world famous Canary Wharf.
This family apartment is secure in a gated complex with off road parking and CCTV. It has two double bedrooms, one en-suite and one family bathroom, modern kitchen, large living / dining room with television and DVD player and a balcony overlooking the quiet Island gardens and of course the river. The DLR will take you to the West End in less than half an hour or if you prefer to travel by boat then the river ferry docks just five minutes walk away at Greenwich pier.

The South East England / Greater London region
London; one of the world’s most important business and cultural centres, with worldwide influence in many spheres. There is a huge amount to see in London, and whether you are looking for a London flat to rent for a weekend break, or for a few weeks. London’s culture is hugely varied with over 300 languages spoken, and the atmosphere changes from street to street.
It is one of the most exciting cities in Europe, with a wealth of history, great art, lots of wonderful parks, some of the best restaurants in the world and an exciting financial centre. As the great Samuel Johnson said "...when a man is tried of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford."
Big Ben, House of Parliament. TheTower of London, Buckingham Palace. A visit to Madame Tussaude. A shopping trip to Oxford street and Harrods of Knightbridge in the West End of London and the night life of London whether it is business or leisure. This two bedroom apartment provides luxury accommodation in a highly desirable location. Located in one of the most historic parts of London.
Other London attractions such as the Tate Modern, St. Paul’s, Shakespeare’s Globe, Millennium Bridge, HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London are all close by.
East London, England / Island Gardens area
The apartment is situated on the river Thames opposite Historic Greenwich where there are many tourist attractions e.g. Maritime Museum, The Royal Observatory, Royal Naval College Greenwich Park and The Cutty Sark to name but a few. Many pubs and restaurants are within easy reach as well as the markets which sell antiques, second-hand clothes and lots more. There is a river bus which travels along the Thames from Greenwich Pier to the Tower of London and Westminster. 20 minutes from the centre of London via British Rail, 2 trains per hour, or Docklands Light Railway, trains every 5 minutes. Near to London City Airport for European flight connections
Greenwich / West Greenwich area Places to visit include also, the Painted Hall & Chapel of the old Royal Naval College, now Greenwich University. Other historical sites include, the Fan Museum, Rangers House, and St Alfege's Church.
The London Marathon starts in Greenwich. The Tour de France came through Greenwich last year and of course the equestrian events are scheduled to be hosted here for 2012 Olympics . The summer Jazz festival in Greenwich is also great fun.
I recommend Oliver's Jazz bar in Nevada Street, open 7 nights a week all year. Rivington's restaurant & bar open all day, (part of the Caprice & Ivy restaurant group). For homemade ice creams, the lovely Buenos Aires Cafe in Royal Hill.
You can easily walk around the locks to Canary Wharf with its bars, restaurants and designer boutiques.
How to get there

Guestbook for Luralda Wharf near Greenwich
"We had a lovely time in your apartment last week; really good location". Kind regards, Tabitha October 2009
Very much enjoyed the flat. It gave us the nighttime quiet we were looking for, not to mention access to Greenwich and Central London. Happy to recommend the flat to others, and feel free to use our names.Jan September 2009
"We had a wonderful stay at your flat. It is truly in a beautiful location.Travel options available make it an accessible location and an excellent alternative to the bustle of other central london accommodation options. We will recommend the flat to family and friends" May 2009
Review Rating : 5/5 "London Marathon Weekend - Luralda Wharf" "I rented the Luralda Wharf apartment over the London Marathon weekend. This was an ideal location, as the apartment is close to the DLR and Greenwich foot tunnel. (Open 24 hrs). Literally a few of minutes walk to both. The apartment was a generous size and was immaculately clean. For somewhere quiet, but still close enough to get around London, this is an ideal apartment. It's also great for a large family, as there are 2 bathrooms (one on suite). Excellent communications with Janie, and Lee was very helpful, when picking up and dropping off the keys. I would definitely recommend this apartment as a great place to stay in London. Thanks"
Luralda Wharf from Ontario, Canada. Date Submitted: May 05, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009 What can I say...We Loved it!!! It was better than described! The apartment had every thing we needed and the view across the river of the Royal Naval College was fantastic. We were so close to the DLR, the walking tunnel under the Thames and the water taxi, we couldn't ask for anything better. There is a great bakery in Greenwich which shouldn't be missed. All the sights in Greenwich make a wonderful day out and of course the rest of London is just a short ride away. We would recommend this place to everyone and I for one will stay again the next time I come to visit.
The apartment was lovely. Very comfortable and with superb river views, you could not get closer to the Thames ! The location was peaceful, just what was needed after the Christmas rush in Central London. We used our ticket for a free river cruise ( from the Original London Bus Tour, tickets purchased using Tesco Clubcard Deals ! to get to the London Eye from Greenwich ), highly recommended. Many thanks for your help Janie, we had a great weekend. Merry Christmas and thanks again Sue
"Really loved drinking champagne on the balcony whilst looking at the Greenwich Maritime Museum, listening to a live jazz band being played on a boat up the Thames"
"Thank you for exposing us to this little oasis in London, that is also so near yet so far from everywhere"
Dear Janie, My husband and I would like to thank you for our comfortable stay at Luralda Wharf. We will miss the most beautiful views of the Thames and all the river cruise, also the serene park/gardens,one could not ask for a better location, Not only did I enjoy the beautiful sunsets I had sunnydays too. I was lucky to see a white Swan gracefully swimming past our flat,I hope I left the sun to keep you and your family happy. Our best regards , Robin &Maritsa .
Thanks for helping us out at such short notice, both our families had great stays in both your places, and I'm glad to say, the wedding went perfectly!! Thanks again and kind regards, David.
