'Sunken House' is a new build contemporary house designed by David Adjaye of Adjaye Associates for Ed Reeve, an architectural photographer.
Situated in the peaceful area of De Beauvoir town it boasts many cosy Pubs within a few minutes walk along tree lined streets that serve excellent food.
Groceries can be delivered to your door or picked up at the SuperMarkets in Dalston and Angel.
Just 7-8 minutes walk is Dalston with it's trendy bars and cool cafes. Just south is the Regents Canal which takes you to the Saturday Farmers Food Market on Broadway Market, a lovely 20 minute walk east. A further 10 minutes east is the beautiful Victoria Park. Along the canal 20 minutes walk West is the area of Angel with it's boutique shops and restaurants.
The newly built overground stations of Haggerston and Dalston will take you to both the Olympics and Central London in 20-30 minutes on clean new and quiet trains so this house's location is ideal for the Olympic visitor.

There are two double bedrooms, one with a Super King Size bed and one with a Standard Double size bed.
The Nursery has a Cot and a Small Double Sofa Bed.
In the living room there are two sofas that can be pushed together to form a very comfortable King Size bed or kept separate as two single beds. At a push you could sleep 8 people and 1 infant.
The Kitchen is an Italian Grey stained oak kitchen by Poliform. It is well appointed with all mod cons.
The living room has a panoramic window that faces west catching the evening light across beautiful neighbouring gardens.

The kitchen opens out onto an outside dining area and courtyard garden. There is a beautiful private courtyard at the front with a mature Maple tree creating a canopy.
There is an off street parking space for one car behind closed gates.
Other cars can be parked on the street with permits provided.

Completed in July 2007, the house's key design statement is of simplicity and refined yet minimal design using environmentally friendly materials to achieve an understated luxury. Named Sunken House after the way in which it appears to sink into its own material due to the continuity across the front and rear outdoor spaces and facade, the property is 2000 square feet over three stories. It has been featured in many magazines and is well known in the design and architectural world.
There are so many visual treats all over this house. David and Ed considered the aspects of the house in order to make the best of the sunlight in its journey around the building through the day. The functionality of the house follows the light through the day. Shadows of a neighbour's bamboo are caught on the opaque bedroom window, the light warms the front in the morning as you leave for work; the light fills the rear courtyard outside the kitchen in the midday, ideal for summer lunches. Evening light fills the top floor living room, broken through the leaves of the oak tree creating animated wallpaper in a light breeze
Conditions
Smokers permitted but asked to please smoke only in the outside areas.
The minimum stay is 1 week. The rate of £4000 per week is clearly stated on the Holiday Lettings website.
