House | 3 bedrooms | sleeps 6
Sunnyside Apartment & Spa is a completely self-contained 2 or 3 double bedroomed property adjacent to our own house. If you only pay for 4 persons, the third bedroom will not be available to use and will remain locked. The property was completely refurbished to a very high standard at the end of 2011.
UNIQUELY, it has the benefit of its own private sauna, steam room, jacuzzi/hot tub and massage chairs - for exclusive use during your stay.
It has a fully kitted kitchenette with a small oven capable of roasting a fairly large turkey, two-ring hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washing machine.
There is a dining/lounge area, plus a private, secluded patio garden with an outside dining area and is suitable for acquiring an all-over tan, if you wish. (we try to arrange most things, but still working on the weather!!)
Additionally, (if you book and pay for all three rooms) you will have use of a 50/60's American diner complete with Jukebox, pinball, neon lights, booth seats etc. Please note that the pinball and jukebox are old and temperamental, so cannot be guaranteed to work, although 90% of the time they do. This room also has a flat screen digital TV with Sky Movies, Sky Sports, ESPN etc
One of the additional benefits of this property is that we live next door, so are on-hand if you require any advice on the facilities or the area. We maintain and clean this property ourselves and take a great pride in its condition.

Each bedroom has its own luxuriously fitted en-suite with shower, wc and wash basin. Each has a King-sized double bed, flat-screen digital TV with 100 stations and a record facility, DVD player, hairdryer, coffee/tea making facilities plus a ceiling fan to cool those occasional hot English summer nights.
In the spa area there are two massage chairs to completely relax in between sessions in the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The sauna can accommodate six people comfortably, the steam room and jacuzzi four people at a time.
This is a non-smoking property, although there is a patio garden at the rear.
Special Requirements and Disabilities:
We have ticked the box for "Not suitable" for wheelchair users, as the property is situated on a hill, so has quite a few steps and a narrow entrance. Also, the jacuzzi is sunken into the ground and although there is a handrail, some people may find it difficult to get in and out. Similarly, we have ticked not under 5's as they would need constant supervision in the spa and kitchen areas.
One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor, the other two on the first floor.
Please ask if you have a specific requirement and we will try to help.
Janet is a Level One BSL signer and our daughter is a Level 3 BSL signer. In addition, as a benefit to deaf or hearing impaired visitors each bedroom has been fitted with an audible fire alarm as well as a visual (flashing) fire alarm and vibrating pad that can be put under the pillow. The spa area and the American Diner have also been fitted with visual fire alarms.
The South East England region
London really does not need any further information - it is London!!
East London, England
On the outskirts of London close to the Essex border, but convenient for motorway access to places further afield, but also convenient for travelling into The City of London and The West End.
We may be biased here, but we believe Chingford to be one of the nicest, safest areas of London. We have lived here for 25 years and our children were all born here and went to local schools, (always on foot). Although it is in London, it is bordered by Epping Forest, so has a more "country" atmosphere than most of suburban and inner London.
Chingford is spoilt for choice for restaurants of all types, within walking distance: 2 Chinese, 3 Indian, 2 Italian, Pizza, Thai, Tapas plus several cafes, six pub/restaurants and several wine bars. There is even a pub/restaurant just 50 yards away!!
Epping Forest is great for walking, cycling, horse riding and fishing. A few minutes walk will take you to Pole Hill, part of which was owned by Lawrence of Arabia in the 1920's. On a clear day you can say all the way to Central London including the London Eye, Canary Wharf etc. Further on is the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge, originally built for Henry VIII. This is currently free entry and worth a visit.
Further afield (20 minutes drive) is the 2012 Olympic site and adjacent to that is the brand new Westfield Shopping Centre (the largest indoor shopping centre in Europe). Also, a 5 minute driveaway is the Olympic Canoe Slalom Centre. Outside of the Olympic period, the centre can be used by the public for White Water Rafting. This is situated in Waltham Abbey, itself a historic town that is worth exploring.
