The Beach House, Seavale
Cottage | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 5
A piece of tranquility at a little known South African village on the East Coast. Approximately 30 minutes drive from East London on the road to Port Alfred. This little seaside village offers peace and tranquility and the property is just a two minute stroll to the unspoilt beach. Perfect for fishing or just relaxing on the beach. This is a private beach, away from the crowds, perfectly unspoilt, perfectly quiet. A little piece of paradise suitable for the whole family. Rural and rustic, a real get-away from it all.
This property has two bedrooms (main is ensuite) each containing a double bed, with an additional single bed set to one side in the lounge. The kitchen is well equipped (cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer) and has all the 'normal' crockery and cutlery essentials with some added extra's. Breakfast can be eaten on the deck whilst enjoying good sea views and an additional 'top deck' for those who prefer a higher view of the full bay. Two bathrooms and separate wc along with garaging for a single car round off this holiday home. Additional facilities include large fridge/freezer for those extra's or even for all the fish you do catch, along with onsite washing/ironing facilities and a dishwasher for when you just dont feel like doing them manually. Perfection is a braai on the deck at sunset whilst sipping a glass of good South African wine. One can almost taste the experience of this seaside holiday.
On property entertainment includes braai (barbecue) facilities and television in the main lounge. Within the village of Seavale there is a small library and a social club which is active during main seasons or for a friendly drink with local folk. Swings are nearby for the younger visitors. There is a small supply store for daily essentials of bread and milk and a supply of basic fishing tackle is available. Approximately half an hour drive away there are supermarkets, bottle stores and take-aways in the East London suburb of Greenfields and further into East London, in the areas of Vincent and Beacon Bay, larger shopping centres can be found, along with superb restaurants, cinema's, supermarkets and clothing shops. Or perhaps a flirt in in the casino at Hemmingways Mall may take your fancy. There is a game reserve a little further away than East London, where game drives can be arranged.
Set on private property, access to the village is by means of a security controlled boom gate (residents and paying holiday-makers only). There is no through-traffic to the village and vehicle speed limits are set low to try and ensure 'children at play' are not overly disturbed.
Satellite television is available at a nominal daily charge and staff can be arranged privately for cleaning and laundry purposes. This is a family business and we aim to make your visit as special as ours have been during the times when we have stayed there. Get right into 'switch-off' mode and enjoy your holiday as it should be...... Quiet and relaxed with the occasional trip into town to replenish for those who like a little shopping every few days.
Car hire is available at the East London airport, from around £20 to £25 per day. This will be necessary for getting to Seavale as well as for a y excursions you may want to take into East London or game reserves.
We charge the same rate all year around - we dont adjust rates higher when it is school holiday times. Lets be fair, there is no need to.
Go on, grab your holiday in paradise......

For a little piece of tranquility in rural South Africa, yet only 40 minutes away from shopping centres, restaurants and cinema's, this is the ideal get-away from it all!
East London, Eastern Cape
Tranquil area, set very close to the sea, separated only by narrow stretch of conservation area. Away from the hoards of people, the area is known for small seaside villages where dolphins (often) and whales (sometimes) frequent the bays. The property is just a two minute walk from the beach.
