Ysgubor is a converted 18th century granary. Pastel painted garden furniture sits on a manicured lawn. Shaded from the midday sun by a clematis, hanging heavily on a nearby trellis. The borders are full of flowers and a noisy finch twitters angrily as I try to photograph it all for this advert. I wonder if Sue and Richard, the owners, would mind sorting out our garden some time.
The front door opens up onto a comfortable lounge with TV and hifi etc. The kitchen dinner has a county cottage feel and is well equipped. There’s also a large en-suite bedroom on the ground floor. Some beautiful antique furniture adds a touch of class to each room.
Upstairs there’s 3 more bedrooms plus a second bathroom. Here all the bedrooms benefit from large skylights which fill the room with soft light each morning. One large bedroom with 3 single beds and across the hall a very cute child’s bedroom leads onto the master bedroom.

About this location
The Gwynedd region
Ysgubor is a beach lover’s paradise. One of the nicest and cleanest beaches in the UK is just a short walk away. For many guests it turns into a daily pilgrimage. Buckets, spades, towels, sandwiches, lots of water, and then a short shuffle in flip flops to the beach. Stopping only to send Dad back for the forgotten sun cream.
Lots of other things to to in the area as well. If you eventually tire of the BBQ in the garden, there's a selection of pubs and restaurant nearby. Barmouth, a popular seaside town is 3 miles to the south and The Royal St Davids, a beautiful 18hole links golf course, is a short drive to the north. Historic castles and monuments are dotted everywhere on the map. Finally the hills behind the village offer plenty of options for even the most enthusiastic walker.

"Peace and tranquility, and a very warm welcome."
We booked this cottage for a last minute family weekend away in the sunshine. The cottage is set close to the beach (approx 10 minutes walk) and is one of 4 in a barn conversion. It is a bit out of the way which suited us nicely as we wanted peace and quiet, but the local shop is only 5 minutes away in the car. We arrived to a very warm welcome which included homemade bread and cakes in the kitchen and fresh flowers in the lounge and main bedroom. The cottage was very clean and well equipped and very cosy but spacious at the same time. Bedding and linen was provided but towels were not, not surprising with the proximity of the cottage to the beach. The setup of the bedrooms here with bedrooms and a bathroom on both floors are great for a family, but would also cater very well for an extended family or a large group of friends (up to 10). The owners Sue and Richard were extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make life easier for us, providing 2 travel cots and highchairs in the cottage and offering for us to stay well beyond the checkout time for our children to have their lunchtime nap and for us to make the most of the sunshine. We had a really lovely weekend here, so much so we have booked to stay at the cottage again for a week later in the year.
