If you feel like relaxing with some relatives or friends, stay at our lovely cottages: l'Orangerie, Le Chêne and La Maison du Jardinier. Restored with charm, elegance and refinement, they are close to the château but remain perfectly independent. We have arranged them as family houses.

La Maison du Jardinier is a cosy and welcoming cottage facing south and located within the park of the castle. You will love this 115 m² house, with its ochre walls, its refreshing, joyful and original decoration. Rambler roses adorn the facade while their yellow and white flowers give off a delightful smell. In the living room, cosy sofas and armchairs are laid around the fireplace. Light a match and curl up by the fireplace. The Loire Valley region

Anjou, is a land of history and tranquillity; the poet Joachim Du Bellay praised la douceur angevine, which is here an art de vivre.

Anjou boasts 1200 châteaux and mansions, private or open to the public, all of which hold part of the magic of the region. You can visit 30 sites in an entertaining way through a game called “Sur la piste de l'enfant Roy” (following into the steps of the child-King), designed to explore the architectural, natural and cultural heritage of the region.

Anjou is France's garden, foremost horticultural department, land of botanists, home to the duke of Anjou in the XVth century and to the Terra Botanica theme park in the XXIst century.

Anjou, a place for enjoyment, set in an authentic environment surrounded by nature: castles, abbeys, historical mansions, chapels, typical villages, gardens, rivers, fields, and forests. All of these sites favour any kind of art and tradition, including the boule de fort, an odd traditional game very much alive.

Anjou is a land of vineyards, which made King René say: “Of the three wines in my cellar, Anjou Lorraine and Provence, the first is the best.” Many still agree with him nowadays. The third wine producing region in France, Anjou offers wines in a wide array of colours and tastes.

Anjou is crossed by 4000km of rivers, perfect for dreaming, fishing, and sports. Remember that the Loir was considered as a “muse” for the poets of the Pléiade.

cadre-noir-angersAnjou, a land of horseback-riding, is home to the cavalry school of Saumur, the National Riding school (Ecole Nationale d'équitation) and the Cadre Noir, all founded in the XVIIIth century. In Angers, the Lion national stud farm hosts the famous Mondial du Lion contest, whose participants are among the best equestrians. Many clubs offer rides in the countryside for all ages.

Anjou is a land to be seen from above, with the Angers-Loire airport and landing strips for all aircrafts, from Airbus A320 to microlight and low-cost planes. The Musée Regional de l'Air (air museum) is worth visiting. There are also several starting points across the department for hot air balloons flights over the Loire River or the gently meandering Loir.

Anjou is a land of colourful, tasty, perfumed, decorative, and instructive discoveries which will leave you with lovely surprises and dazzling memories to share.
