The Northern England / Yorkshire / Northumberland region

As well as Newcastle and the quayside itself there are many other visitor attractions within the region.

Over the river in Gateshead you could enjoy the Victorian splendour of Saltwell Park as well as visiting our guardian Angel of the North. There are beautiful beaches at Tynemouth a short metro ride away or a bit further afield the stunning Northumberland coast boasts many attractions including Seahouses, Bamburgh Castle and Holy island.

Beamish open air museum is a great day out for the family as are the stately homes of Cragside and Wallington in Northumberland.

The barn is in a perfect place to enjoy everything the North East has to offer.

Durham is 15 min drive, Newcastle is 30 min drive. 15 minutes drive will get you to the sandy beach at Seaham (on a clear day you can see the sea from the barn) where you can enjoy the spa and restaurant facilities of Seaham Hall.

Other nearby attractions include:
Beamish open air museum,
Hartlepool historic quay and museum,
The Durham dales and Teesdale - High Force waterfall and beautiful market towns such as Barnard Castle.
Castle Eden Dene - an impressive coastal ravine which is now a nature reserve.
