"Very nice place to stay"
The house is nice and comfortable. It is on a good bus route for access to Newcastle and Consett. We drove most of the time and had no problem getting around. Easy access to Hadrian's Wall and the fells. Good food at the Derwent Walk Inn just a short drive from the house.
Minor issues: front door hard to open and lock but we always used the back door, parking is difficult but possible in the rear lane way, if you like wine you will need to buy a corkscrew
A very nice place to stay
Thanks for your comments, although I would just like to respond on the door issue, we did explain that the back door was a little stiff due to it being new and it swells a little when it rains, so I can only apologise for that. Also there is and always has been a corkscrew in the drawer by the sink. I ask every guest that if they need anything at all during their stay that they shouldn't hesitate to contact me, for example you didn't have a UK ipad charger and I gave you mine for the week, so I would have been more than happy to get you a corkscrew had the other one not been in the drawer. Thanks again for your comments and I hope I have responded to this appropriately so it doesn't put other guests off booking.

"A secret paradise"
We booked the cottage as a base to explore the north east and once we had checked in we didn't want to go out!! This is the most luxurious cottage we have ever stayed in and the cakes on arrival were absolutely gorgeous. Have already booked again.
