There is a wealth of places of interest for the ramblers among us. It is only 46 miles from the Lake District enjoying a beautiful scenic drive over the North Pennines - well worth a visit. The historic city of Durham is 30 miles away with its cathedral, shops and restaurants. Newcastle and the Gateshead Metro Centre are approximately 25 miles and can be enjoyed for shopping, cinema, restaurants and museums. Beamish Museum. Bowes Museum, Raby castle, High/ Low Force, Aysgarth Falls, Harperley Prisoner of War Camp, Richmond, Leyburn North Yorkshire, Killhope Lead Mining Museum, Northumberland, Hexham, Hadrian's Wall and Alnwick Castle are also accessible by car. The natural unspoiled beauty of the Northumerland Coast for a longer excursion is a great day trip to enjoy. Some locations can be accessed via the local Weardale Bus Company. However Stanhope and its immediate vicinity itself has many places of interest just on its door step so there is no reason to travel too far.

Further details indoors: This very comfortable spacious accommodation is tastefully decorated and ideal for more than one family (You could even bring along a parent and still retain an adequate amount of privacy.) The four 3rd floor bedrooms are serviced by a large bathroom with free standing bath and a single shower cubicle.
Two of the bedrooms have Victorian feature fire places, stripped flooring in three of the rooms with occasional rugs and free standing period furniture. One of the double bedrooms has an adjoining door so is ideal for a family room. All bedrooms have lined curtains, matching duvet covers, extra cushions, mirrors bedside lamps, dressing areas, homely ornaments and pictures created by a local artist and photographs taken by my husband of local areas and local places.

Travel From the South Continue North on the A1(M) until see signs for A68, following signs for Corbridge. Travel through West Auckland keeping to signs for A68 until reach Pub- The Three Tunns, turn Left into Toft Hill. Follow signs for A689 toward Wolsingham, Stanhope
From the North Continue South on the A1 until reach signs for A68, signs for Corbridge. Travel toward Hexham picking up sign for A68 Darlington continue on A68 traveling through Tow Law until reach roundabout with signs of A689 pick up signs for Wolsingham, Stanhope.
Continue on road passed Witton-le-Wear until reach Fir Tree (13 miles) still following signs for A68. Continue on road leaving Fir Tree you will come to roundabout, (island) turn left towards Wolsingham on the A689. Continue on A689 through Wolsingham, Frosterley until you enter Stanhope past garage on the left.
Conditions
We require £200 security deposit on booking and the remainder of the balance is due 8 weeks before the arrival date. We accept cheques or bank transfer.
If you require further directions to Stanhope we are more than happy to do forward them. The keys are available by arrangement (However if there is a cross over day the keys will be available after 3 o’clock please check the availability calendar to check status of week leading up to your stay.
