Only four miles away is the delightful village of Blanchland. Dating back to 1165, Blanchland is reputed to be one of the prettiest villages in England, famous for being the film location for many of the Catherine Cookson novels.

"fatastic cottage a must do"
arrived jan in the thick snow,, julie had rang earlier to give us the best directions to the village.
wine, milk, fresh flowers and logs for fire on arrival, snowed in 3 days didnt care the cottage was so warm cosy and only 10 footsteps from local pub
