About the home

Gorgeously built holiday villa, fully equipped to a top luxary standard, with terrace & swimming pool, panoramic view of vineyards, mountains as well as the village of Durban-Corbieres. The lovely village is situated in the Languedoc region in southern France.

In the magnificent Cathar landscape is this village Durban-Corbieres. Villa "Fleur de Montagne" is on top of the hill overlooking the village.

It comprises of an entrance hall with a patio open to the sky, a big living room with an integrated modern fully equipped kitchen and the masters bedroom on the lower level.

On the higher level in the house, there is a double bedroom and a combined bedroom / TV-room, guest WC and a shower room.

The house is furnished very comfortable to a top-standard.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all modern convenience including dishwasher and microwave. Spacious living room, with an open fireplace, which opens out onto a magnificent teak deck surrounding the swimming pool.

A satellite TV, accessing English and French channels, with DVD-player and a DVD-library are available as well as a new computer with free Internet-access.

A washing machine and a modern barbecue makes it all complete.

The house is intended for a group of maximum 6 persons

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Aude region

The region has a Mediterranean climate with warm and sunny summers. The area has a lot to offer for everyone. There are many historical sites nearby but also a long almost uninterrupted white sandy beach and picturesque fishing village where all kind of water sports can be performed.

Nearby is both the historical city of Narbonne as well as the almost Spanish city of Perpignan. Both with their own identity and charm.

The place is also ideally suited for day trips to spectacular Chateaux de Cathares with Peyrepertuse, Queribus, Cucugnan, Padern and Aquilar in the vicinity and of course the Carcassonne about one hour away.

Since this is a wine area there are many wine yards to visit often with a nice restaurant. There are a lot of very good restaurants with the 2 star (Michelin) restaurants in Fontjoncouse as the brightest star.

The Durban Corbieres area

The village Durban-Corbieres, in the Corbieres Mountains, is a small lovely and typical French village in the middle of the historical Cathar country.

The village has everything that you need for your stay, a supermarket, baker shop, bank, doctor, pharmacy, petrol station, bar and restaurant all close at hand.

Durban- Corbieres is located about 30 minutes from the coast at Leucate Plage and La Franqui as well as the city Narbonne. Perpignan is 45 min away.

The village also hosts many outdoor festivals during the summertime, where entry is normally free.

“Delightful villa” We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this delightful villa. The house is light and airy, the furnishings attractive, well planned and well kept. We particularly appreciated the very comfortable beds. The kitchen, although small, is well planned and well equipped. We found everything we could possibly need and cooked in most nights, making good use of the good quality oven, hob and dishwasher. The terrace and pool were a pleasure and we loved the wide view of the surrounding countryside. Everything was very clean and the local 'manager' very helpful. We would happily visit again. The surrounding countryside is very attractive and we had some good days out to Carcassone and the coast (Collioure is particularly recommended). The few restaurants within 20 mins of the villa were very quiet when we visited.

“Excellent value, superior facilities” The house was well-presented with unfussy decor that made it perfect for adults and small children alike. The kitchen was modern and well-equipped and there were plenty of plates, utensils etc. The wireless worked well, the children loved the TV and everyone enjoyed the clean pool with the great view. It is a much shorter walk down a footpath to the village than the drive up the hill from Durban-Corbieres suggests.

Villa Fleur de Montagne is rented out on a weekly basis with changeover day as Saturday.

Your holiday rate is including bed linen and towels.

Your reservation is valid on receipt of a 20% deposit. The deposit is of course returned in full if cancellation is made more than 6 weeks before your intended arrival. Balance payable 6 weeks before arrival.

You will be asked to pay a deposit of 300€ on arrival to cover any damage to the property during your stay.

All financial transactions can be made with either English, French or Swedish bank.

Electricity to heat up the house is not included in the rate during the winter season.
