The Grange
About the home
Established in the summer of 2000, the gite is an ideal location for families and groups of adults alike. Big garden with kids playing tower and secluded pool area with large sunbathing patio. Fields and woodland to the rear.
The gite is part of a former French farmhouse and has its own private garden with dining terrace with a BBQ. The large garden to the rear is ideal for playing football, badminton and croquet. In previous years there were two such gites, now there is just one.
Pets are most welcome - I have a golden retriever who loves children. Even the most timid of children have cried at the end of the holiday when saying goodbye to him!
The walk to the village is just 15 minutes and you can order your breakfast baguette and croissants from the shop. They also carry a good range of many products including English favourites.
The village restaurant serves a 4-course lunch for just 13€ and their pizzas are home-made and well known in the area.
I can cook a meal for your arrival if you wish. Menus on request.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region
An abundant wine producing area often referred to as the Tuscany of France where the countryside is covered with vineyards, sunflowers and fruit orchards. The Lot et Garonne is one of the prettiest parts of the south-west of France with rolling hills, magnificent views, châteaux and bastide towns. The climate is mild and fine and averages 5° above that of Paris. The annual rainfall is nearly the lowest in France. The population density is just 57 people to a square kilometre. There are markets every day of the week and great vide greniers in the summer months where you can still pick up bargains.
The Duras / Loubes Bernac area
The village of Loubes-Bernac has a village shop, post office, family restaurant and bar and even a hairdresser. Most of the daily shopping for bread etc. can be achieved in the village shop, but the nearest supermarket is 15 minutes in the car, to either Eymet, Duras or Ste Foy la Grande
You don't need to go far to buy your wine - it's virtually on the doorstep

We really liked this property and our children especially liked the pool. It was spacious, clean and comfortable and provided a real 'home from home' experience. It is set in beautiful surroundings with vineyards and sunflower fields in abundance. It is rural so if you prefer to be in the 'thick of the action' this place would not be for you but it is not far from all amenities in the nearby town and was perfect for us. Having never travelled to this part of France before, our hosts Ali and Colin were great and provided a wealth of information on places to visit and eat. This property accepts dogs and our golden retriever had a great time with the resident goldie, Charlie. A good time had by all. |
