About the home
Our holiday apartment is built in traditional Andalucian style and set in landscaped tropical gardens with shared pools and tennis court. Set back on a natural hill in the Ronda foothills, the flat enjoys peace and quiet and exquisite views. Yet the marina and beach are only a short distance.
Duquesa has enough restaurants to cater for all tastes, but in case you are after al fresco dining, our holiday accommodation enjoys a fully equipped kitchen and dining facilities for 6. In our home from home you can choose from a selection of DVDs and books to enjoy if you just want to chill out on the balcony or by the pool.
For the more energetic tennis and golf are close by whilst a car is recommended to get the best out of your stay with attractions to suit all generations and interests.

Climbing steeply away from the beaches are the Sierra Nevada mountains, where nature lovers can walk, cycle,or sample the natural marvels and 'white' villages of Andalucia, such as Casares and Gaucin. To the west of Marbella, La Duquesa benefits from the vast tracts of unspoilt natural countryside and traditional atmosphere with picturesque vineyards stretching across the hillsides.
Located close to the most southerly point in Europe, the climate provides an all year round season, so you can take your holiday whenever it suits you.
The Duquesa area
Puerto de la Duquesa is the Costa del Sol's best kept secret, holding off the crowds despite having all the facilities for a successful holiday destination. It has excellent access to both Malaga (50 min) and Gibraltar (30 min) airport. The motorway nearby makes Duquesa an ideal location if you want to explore Andalucia.
The Marina de la Duquesa with its bars and restaurants provide the focal point. Beautiful, uncrowded beaches, some with blue flag status stretch for miles either side of the marina and the promenade is there to walk off any indulgence!
Those in need of serious shopping or a bustling nightlife should head for nearby Estepona, with Puerto Banus or Marbella less than twenty minutes drive.
If you are looking for history or culture, try the historic cities of Cadiz, Granada, Ronda, Seville, Gibraltar and Jerez or hop over the Straits of Gibraltar to visit Tangier and other exotic places.
Other attractions include Selwoo Nature Reserve, water parks, Karting, horse riding, water sports, sea trips. There is something here for everyone!
For the golf enthusiast: La Duquesa is in the centre of some of Europe’s best golf courses suitable for all levels of skill. La Duquesa Golf & Country Club has an 18-hole course with wonderful sea and mountain views. Further golfing challenges close by include:
• Alcaidesa: a Links course overlooking Gibraltar
• Valderrama: Ryder Cup & World Championship
• Sotogrande: a parkland course
• La Cañada: with fairways as thick & lush as carpet
• San Roque, host to qualifying schools.
And as if this is not enough, some 40-odd courses are within an hours drive.

Our apartment is easily accessible from Malaga Airport ( 50 min.) which is served by most of the budget airlines as well as Gibraltar Airport (30 min.). We have had the best prices from easyjet, monarch, thompsonfly and more recently air lingus.
Car hire is recommended, especially if you want to explore this beautiful part of Spain. For those flying into Malaga we have used many of the car hire companies. We usually use Helle Hollis and have an arrangement with them so that people visiting our apartment will receive a discount when quoting our reference for one vehicle. The queues are usually shorter than with some of the other car hire companies and this is worth bearing in mind especially when travelling with children.
Alternatively our local agent can pick you up from the airportt.
