Our apartment is in a quiet location a short walk from lively Puerto de la Duquesa along this coastline, known as the new 'Golden Mile' on the Costa Del Sol. The Marina boasts many restaurants catering for all tastes. Beaches can be found either side of the marina where one can enjoy beach cafes for a snack or lunch overlooking the sea.
A lovely walk along a promenade joins Duquesa Port with the small village of Sabinillas. 15 mins by car will take you to the town of Estepona and a further ten minutes will take you to Marbella. Gaucin & Casares, famous Andalucian white villages in the hills, are also only a short drive away.
Also consider a day in Gibraltar or a trip to Tangier and back. Various excursions can be booked to ...........................
Golf courses are in abundance along the coast and many are within 15 minutes drive. These include Duquesa, Dona Julia, Estepona, Valderama, San Roque, Marbella Golf Resort, Marbella Golf & Country, Sotogrande, Alcaidesa, Alhaurin.
After a great day out, return to Balcones De Los Hidalgos for a swim in the pool or peaceful sunbathing on the surrounding grassed area, taking in the panoramic views.

The apartment has air conditioning / heating.
The lounge leads onto a large terracotta terrace. The terrace is furnished with a circular table and six chairs; a great place to sit in the evening. Smoking is only permitted outside on the terrace please.
Master bedroom - with king-size bed, fitted wardrobes and en-suite bathroom with bath & shower above, WC, bidet and sink.
Bedroom 2 - with two twin beds, fitted wardrobes, balcony windows and access door onto terrace.
Bedroom 3 - with two twin beds, fitted wardrobes, and balcony style sliding windows.
Main bathroom with bath & shower above, WC, bidet and sink .
Kitchen: Fully fitted with electric oven / electric hob / microwave with grill / fridge / freezer / dishwasher / toaster / kettle and fully equipped with everything you will need from corkscrew to measuring jug.
Living Room: Is furnished with 2 large settees, glass coffee & lamp tables. The glassed topped dining table can comfortably seat six people.
The apartment will be clean and ready for your arrival with freshly made beds and towels provided (please bring your own beach towels).
A mid stay clean and change of linen for 2 week bookings or longer can be arranged. At the end of any stay there will be an additional outgoing cleaning and laundering charge applicable to the number of people staying to a maximum of 55.00 Euros.
Hair dryer provided. If you bring with you hair straighteners or hair curlers please use protection between the dressing table top and the hot irons.

Outside: There is a large spacious pool suitable for young and old alike, a garden area with seating. Like all good communities there are rules posted on the pool site and around, that we would ask you to abide by. For added security and safety there is a pool lifeguard during pool opening hours.

The apartment is set within a secure walled and gated community, with a spacious car park and lift to all 3 floors (our apartment is on the 1st fl.). Our parking bay is No. 19; should it already be occupied please choose another parking bay close by . The large pool, suitable for young and old alike, is surrounded by beautiful well maintained gardens and enjoys full sun all day long. There is also a quiet garden area to sit away from the pool and enjoy the sun whilst taking in the view.
Whether you enjoy a leisurely stroll, or are a keen walker, both are available beyond the gate. Whether it's beach or countryside for you, this apartment offers both.
Never forget that you are only a short drive away from another continent; Europe - Africa and back in a day; who could ask for more?

The Andalucia region
The area is surrounded by a wealth of places to visit, eat and just generally relax. From a trip to see the apes in Gibralter to a cable car ride at Belamadena. A visit to the zoo in Feurengerola or a safari in Selwo Park.
Visit the picture perfect white washed villages of Casares, Gaucin and Mijas.
The markets, the Roman baths in Sabinillas, the miles of soft white sand; the water parks along the coastline. The glamorous style of Peurto Banus, the elegance of Sotogrande rubbing shoulders with the worlds best golfers in Valderama or 18 holes in one of the many other courses in the surrounding area. Rhonda with its famous bullring and bridge. Take the ferry to North Africa!
Within Duquesa itself lies the lovely Castilio (castle) and many wonderful restaurants and Chirinquitos. You choose how you wish to spend your holiday time. This is the region of Southern Spain that offers it all: Marbella, Peurto Banus, Gibralter, Casares, Estepona are all within a short drive of Duquesa. Legend has it that the sulphur springs in Sabinillas were used by Julius Caesar.
The vibrant Sunday and weekly Markets are a must to visit. Apart from the pretty Marina of Duquesa with its many and varied restaurants there is Old Town Duquesa with its Castilio and a surprising choice of bars and restaurants.
The beach stretches for miles and the Chirinquitos (beach bars) are plentiful. Keep an eye on the local papers for any festivals or events for which Spain is famous. Trips to Cadiz, Seville, Granada and North Africa can be easily arranged.

"Nice apartment and great pool"

"Nice apartment shame about the owners"
We found the apartment clean and ready to use, except for the air conditioner. I had to ring the owners in UK who said there was a problem with the remote which obviously had not been sorted - we used the manual with a toothpick for the rest of holidays! Shame it didnt have a welcome pack like alot of rental properties nowdays to set you off. However, good supermarkets near by (use the older looking for basics - better prices). Good pool facilities and only once had a lounger shortage. Very clean overall complex, near Gibraltar and pretty Spanish towns in the hills. But dont hang out towels on balcony or you get the president of complex on your back! However, the poor rating is for the mistrust from the owners about the gate door key which we found brocken in two when we tried to open the car gate for the first time. The key had been stuck together by previous people, you could see the glue residue on it. I phoned owners and told them all this,and I didnt think I should pay for a replacment who seemed to accept my word then and we had a quick replacement. I thought nothing more about this.On return home the owner docked £25 off my deposit of £150. After alot of messy emails (I did try to speak to Susan - who refused my calls), I still am without £25 for a blinkin piece of plastic !!! Beware - I think they are tightrods (and amateurs - its their property which they use) who try to recover their money regardless of who is really responsible. I would have taken the hit and blamed myself for not checking the state of the keys before I sent out to my client. There is a 55 euro charge to clean apt after use which I think is excessive.First time I have come across this. Take into account phone calls home, loss of part of my deposit and sending back new keys recorded delivery, I think I have been shortchanged. We owned up to some minor crockery breakages (there is no sink plate rack which doesnt help) so why should we make up the key story?

There is always the possibility of equipment not working and home owners can only strive to resolve the situation as quickly as possible. On this occasion when informed our remote control to activate the air conditioning was not working, we suggested an alternative method for the short term which was appreciated by our guests at the time.
We send a lot of information in advance of our guests departing for their holiday which include the offer of a welcome pack, which can be requested if required. We also include a copy of the Rules of the Community to help our guests maintain the appearance and standards of the Community for residents and guests to enjoy.
Our keys are checked when returned to us and carefully packaged and sent out in advance of guests leaving for their holiday. It is not in our interest to post out a broken or damaged fob.
We never ignore phone calls from our guests as they are encouraged to phone us if there is a query or problem. It is in our interest to respond as quickly as possible and if necessary we inform our associate on site to take appropriate action on our behalf. For example, supplying a fresh fob within 10 minutes of a call.
It is not uncommon to pay a separate laundry/cleaning charge at the holiday location and this charge is clearly included on the booking contract, which our guests read before signing and returning to us.
It is standard practice with most lettings for guests to either receive keys on site or have them posted by recorded delivery in advance of departure and therefore have the keys returned in the same manner.
Our aim is to ensure our guests enjoy their stay in our apartment and return again. We have always received via email unsolicited compliments from our guests about their holiday experience and holiday apartment. We are therefore very disappointed to receive this review.
