The Costa del Sol region

The Costa del Sol area boasts a microclimate of it's own. The summers are long and hot whilst the winters are comfortably warm and rain is quite rare. The Manilva Beach apartments are in the Costa del Sol area of Spain only 25 minutes from Gibraltar. It sits in the unspoilt coastal region of southern Spain, as yet untouched by the hustle, bustle and noise of the typical holiday makers venue.
Many places of interest are scattered around this area.
The ancient town of Cadiz is only a couple of hours away and well worth a visit
Gibraltar offers the opportunity to visit a little bit of British history as well as the famous Rock and it's inhabitants - the mischievous monkeys! The little village of Casares nestles against the sheer faces of the mountain just behind Estepona and is worth a visit to see it's family of tawny vultures constantly circling the ancient ruined castle, a relic from the days of the Crusades. A drive up the mountain side to the town of Ronda presents you with stunning views whilst sipping the local brew. Ronda is built in 2 parts, joined by an impressive bridge and boasts the oldest bull ring in Spain. Puerto Banus, the St Tropez of Spain, is a short drive north. Here you can rub shoulders with the rich and famous, enjoy the marina pontoons, explore the fashion houses and market.
The Duquesa / Aldea Beach area
The Estepona region is blessed with about 40 golf courses which range in difficulty from beginner to world professional status. The local La Duquesa Golf and Country Club also offers tennis and squash as well as use of a fully equipped gym. Puerto de la Duquesa is the nearest coastal village, perfect for morning coffee and croissants whilst gazing out over the numerous boats in the harbour. The village offers a wide range of all types of restaurants. Duquesa is home to all types of water sports and boating activities. Sabinillas is the nearest village for your provisions. It has more than one supermarket (Mercado) easily reached from the main A7 road. These shops stay open during the siesta period. Puerto Banus hosts an outdoor market on Saturdays in the bull ring. For the adventurous there are walking and climbing opportunities along the coast and up into the craggy mountains behind the coastal plain. You will be rewarded with some stunning views of the surrounding area and be at peace with the local flora and fauna.
