Home description

The prestigious Los Castillos apartments are located on the edge of the renowned Duquesa golf course and are set in sub-tropical gardens so an ideal base for either a relaxing golf break or a quiet family holiday. These luxury apartments all have Sky TV, air-conditioning/central heating and large terraces ideal for those relaxing evenings. Lifts from the secure garage spaces serve apartments on all floors. There are 2 swimming pools for your use and the local beaches are just a few minutes walk away beside the marina at Puerto de la Duquesa.

Duquesa is a small area on the Costa del Sol situated around a pretty marina where there are a number of bars and restaurants to enjoy the Mediterranean views. Within easy access are the traditional “white villages” situated in the mountains of Andalucia, bustling Puerto Banus (renowned for its famous and wealthy residents), the city of Malaga with many monuments, museums and places of interest, and several tourist attractions such as water parks, zoos and wildlife centres as well as modern shopping malls.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

The Costa del Sol is one of the most attractive areas of Andalucia with miles of coastline varying between award-winning stretches of sandy beaches and rugged cliffs with tiny coves. Inland there the traditional Andalucian “white villages” to discover and plenty of spectacular scenery on the way through the mountains.
On long summer days there is endless sunshine with temperatures often reaching 30ºC, in spring and autumn the climate is warm and inviting, even in winter you can enjoy long hours of daylight and comfortable temperatures around 15ºC – throughout the year there are on average more than 300 days of sunshine.

Historically inhabited by the Moors, Andalucia is home to many ancient monuments and buildings - the most famous example of Moorish architecture is perhaps the Alhambra Palace overlooking the city of Granada less than 2 hours drive away from Duquesa. Also worth a visit, and even closer, is the city of Cadiz: built on a peninsular it has a busy shipping port, an old town with narrow streets full of churches, shops, bars and restaurants, and a more modern section with department stores and lively nightlife. Another worthwhile trip is to Jerez, home of some of the most renowned sherry bodegas (such as Tio Pepe and Domecq) and the Royal Andalucian School of Equestrian Art.


Duquesa / Los Castillos area

As well as the nearby towns and cities to see, most of which have a weekly market for you to browse and buy souvenirs, there are several local tourist attractions – amongst them are Selwo Adventure Park with wildlife species from all over the world, aquaparks at Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Algeciras, a zoo and a crocodile park near Fuengirola, numerous watersport activities on many beaches, and of course over 30 golf courses within easy access.

Each Spanish town holds a feria (fair) to celebrate its own patron saint, and there are also other traditional fiestas throughout the region when you will be able to witness processions and spectacular firework displays. In Puerto de la Duquesa, and the neighbouring villages of Sabinillas and Castillo, the local festivals will take place in 2007 on 28 February, 14 to 20 May, 23 June, 16 July, 26 July, 2 September.


How to get there

Duquesa is 50 minutes from Malaga airport (flights from all UK and Ireland airports) along the AP7 toll road or 1 hour 10 minutes along the A7 (N340) coast road. Gibraltar airport (flights from London : Luton, Gatwick or Heathrow) is only 30 minutes away. Jerez airport which now serves some major airlines is just over an hour away. Several car hire companies operate from each airport – we suggest you search the internet to suit your needs or we can recommend local companies on request.
Full driving directions will be sent to you once booking is confirmed so be sure to let us know your flight arrangements.

To book we require a 20% deposit with full balance due 3 weeks before travel. All prices are for rental of the apartment per week – cots, high chairs or additional beds may be available on request for a small surcharge. Guests will be met with keys and shown into their apartment by one of our representatives on arrival. Apartments must be vacated by 10:00 on day of departure. Bookings in July and August must be from Saturday to Saturday.
