This immaculately looked after apartment is on the exclusive Duquesa Suites Golf and Gardens complex. The apartment is situated on the ground floor with a large walled in terrace over looking the beautiful tropical gardens and cascading ponds. Make a splash or simply relax by one of the two hotel size swimming pools or play tennis on the paddle tennis court.
The beach is only a short drive away or a ten minutes walk next to the port which is full of restaurants and bars to cater for your evening out. Next to the complex is a courtyard of lovely places to eat and drink in a relaxing Spanish setting. Duquesa Golf course is five minutes walk away. Two very good supermarkets are five minutes drive from the apartment. We have managing agents to look after you during your stay to make sure your have the perfect holiday.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
If you're feeling like beach is fine but not all the time Duquesa offers this with a dollop of socialising, shopping, visiting Puerto Banus for a drink at one of its many bars and restaurants or if the urge takes you having a gamble at the casino or even dancing at one of the many night clubs on offer. For all this our Duquesa apartment is where you should head. Thirty minutes from Gibraltar Airport or one hour from Malaga Airport or one and a half hours from Jerez Airport ideally situated above Duquesa Port with a long stretch of beach and a marina full of restaurants and not far for exploring Marbella, Rhonda, Granada, Malaga and Gibraltar.
La Duquesa Golf and Country Club right next to the complex boasts an 18 holes course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., a technical masterpiece with wonderful sea and mountain views. In addition to golf, the club offers many facilities including tennis, squash, and a fully equipped gym with a qualified resident trainer. Membership is available. The whole golf complex has recently been upgraded to a very high standard. Further golfing challenges are close at hand: Alcaidesa, a Links course overlooking the Rock of Gibraltar; Valderrama, host of the Ryder Cup and World Championship, only ten minutes from La Duquesa; Sotogrande, a parkland course; and La Cañada, a wonderful golf challenge where the fairways are as thick and lush as carpet. San Roque, host to the qualifying schools, is also only a few minutes away. And if this is not enough, there are another 40-odd courses within an hours drive.
Duquesa / Golf and Gardens Complex area
Coast/Beach The flat is a 10 minute walk from the Port of Duquesa which has its own beach. A short walk from the Port brings you to the lovely beach at Sabinillas which is a charming Spanish seaside town and holds a large market every Sunday which has relocatted to the stadium above Sabinillas. The marina itself has over 50 resaurants and bars to choose from.Large sellectionof Supermarkets are five minutes by car . The Golf course is designed by Robert Trent Jones and is the most reasonable in the Costa del Sol. (More information can be found about Duquesa on the Internet by using Google or Yahoo.)
Manilva is a little Spanish town at the back of Duquesa and produces local wines.
Sabinillas is the local Spanish town and is within walking distance. It has local festivals and a weekly market. There is a church in Sabinillas and the local bus station. Distances To the East you have Marbella and Puerto Banus, which are about 25 minutes from the apartment by car. To the west you have Sotogrande about 5 minutes by car and Gibraltar which are about 25 minutes away by car.
How to get there
55 minutes drive from Malaga airport, 35 minutes drive from Gibraltar airport and 1 to 2 hour drive from Jerez airport now the new road has been finished.
Easyjet are now flying from Gatwick to Gibraltar and Ryanair fly from Stanstard to Jerez if your looking for alterative flights to the Costa del Sol.
We can arange transfers to and from airport to apartment. Car hire is recomended to get the most out of your holiday.
If you wish to take advantage of our two resort holidays one week Duquesa One week Isla Canela You need to book your flights coming into Malaga or Jerez and out of Seville ( or vice versa ) check with your car hire company that they let you pick up and drop off at different airports in Spain. The drive from Duquesa to Isla Canela is three and a half hours. The drive from Duquesa to Seville is two hours. The drive from Seville to Isla Canela is 1 and half hours.

The apartment has air conditioning / heating. Beach towels and hair dryer provided.
The main bedroom and lounge lead onto the large terracotta terrace and this gives the apartment a greater sense of space. The terrace is furnished with a trendy round glass and silver metal table with six matching chairs and two matching sun loungers. The terrace is partly covered by the balcony above but gets plenty of sun. Situated on the more exclusive side of the development the terrace is opposite the gardens and cascading ponds. The small access road in front makes it ideal for easy access with luggage, shopping and small children etc. The terrace is walled around with entrance gained either via the lounge or main bedroom from the inside of the apartment or via a lockable gate giving access to all the communal areas but making it very safe for small children to play in the open. We provide ashtrays for people who wish to smoke - but please only smoke on the terrace.

Kitchen: Granite work tops, fully fitted with electric oven / grill and electric hob / microwave / grill / fridge / freezer / dishwasher / toaster / kettle / hand blender and fully equipped with everything you will need from corkscrew to measuring jug. We provide a collection of plastic baby and toddler plates bowls beakers and cutlery.
Utility Room: The Utility room has the hot water tank plus the washing machine in addition two clothes horses and pegs to dry clothes on the terrace and when everything is clean and dry we have an ironing board and iron if needed.
Living Rooms: DVD, CD Didgital radio and i pod / MP3 player with large dvd film collection, games and fictional and children's books are on the bookcase in the spacious lounge /dining room that leads onto the terrace. The glassed topped dining table can seat comfortably six people and when needed will extend to seat 8 to 10 We also have enough crockery, cutlery and glasses for 12 place settings. L shape sofa. Other: The ground floor terrace is so large it feels like another room to the apartment.
The apartment will be clean and ready for your arrival with freshly made beds and towels provided, Cot high chair and buggy hire, welcome pack and airport transfers can all be arranged at an extra cost.
Two week bookings will have a midstay clean and change of linen provided free of charge. Extra cleaning can be arranged at an extra cost.
Beds have top and bottom sheets plus duvets (summer 4.5 togs, winter 9 togs). 2 pillows per person and bath, hand and beach towels are also provided.
Hair dryer provided. If you bring with you hair straighteners or hair curlers please use protection between the dressing table top and the hot irons.
Further details outdoors: Outside To the left of the terrace is the small children's play area and communal barbecue area You also can see the sea from this spot. Opposite the apartments are the gardens and ponds of cascading water which leads to the first of two hotel size swimming pool for adults and the smaller safer children's pool. Sun beds are provided, the other swimming pool is on the inner side of the apartment building. The security guards and entrance comes next and just a little further along is the paddle tennis court. All dogs are required to be on leads and not allowed around the swimming pool and paddle tennis court areas.

Smoking is only allowed on the terrace ashtrays are provided. Children under the age of 14 have to be supervised around the swimming pool. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times in the communal areas and are not allowed around the swimming pool and paddle tennis court areas.
Please only park on our designated car parking space number 243 oposite the terrace which give easy access to the apartment and makes it very handy for luggage or shopping.
Changeover days July and August would prefer Sunday flexable for the rest of the year.(please see calendar for available dates).
If guests are arriving the same day guests are leaving please vacate apartment by 10.00 am and if you are arriving you will be able to gain entry into apartment by 16.00 hours local time These times are flexible to accommodate guests and we will be able to let you know the exact time nearer your booking.
Conditions
CLEANING AND LINEN One week stays If you are staying in the apartment for one week the apartment will be clean and ready for your arrival with beds made up with fresh bed linen a bath towel and hand towel per person as well as a bath mat in each bathroom also two tea towels and an oven glove in the kitchen also a beach towel per person. Quick mid stay clean and a change of linen can be arranged at an extra cost.
One nights to thirteen night bookings A surcharge of £50 will be added for a quick mid stay clean and change of linen on all nine to thirteen night bookings, please see two week bookings for full details.
Two week stays If you are staying for two weeks a free quick mid stay clean and change of linen will be provided. Beach towels will only be provided once on a two week stay but they can be placed into the apartment washing machine during your stay at any time you wish to wash them during your holiday. In the summer because we use a top and bottom sheet on the beds the quilt covers are not changed until the end of your stay. Quick mid stay clean and change of linen will take place for two week bookings seven days after you arrive. They will be at 11 o’clock in the mornings. The house keeper has a set of keys to let herself into the apartment to do the quick mid stay clean and change of linen so it is up to you if you are in the apartment or not when the house keeper arrives.
SOFA BED If the sofa bed is being used the bedding linen and towels will be found neatly folded in the wardrobe of the second bedroom.The prices shown are for up to 4 people in the apartment per week. BOOKING AND PAYMENT TERMS Payment is due in full immediately if booking within 8 weeks of departure If booking more than 8 weeks from departure then please send us £150 to secure booking and the balance at least 8 weeks before departure. We also add on a £100 per week damage deposit which is fully refunded on your return.

Dear Caroline Thank you for the prompt return of our damage deposit. May I take this opportunity to commend you on your apartment and the facilities you provide. We were highly impressed with the quality of the apartment, the facilities in the apartment and the complex overall. We met the owners of the apartments either side and they were both very friendly and welcoming. The weather was great for late October, warm and sunny every day, temperatures around 25C but nice and cool in the evening. The complex was very quiet with not many apartments occupied. Perfect just what we wanted, we went for a restful week and didn't do much visiting of places, just the usual shopping trips to Gibraltar and Marbella. We have already passed your details on to friends with our recommendations. We ate out every night down in the port and all the restaurants we visited I would return to. We had Chinese, Indian, Italian , British and Mexican oh and Spanish, we like to vary it and their was plenty of choice for a small place. We have already booked a holiday for next year but I am sure I will be contacting you later in the year to arrange something for your place on the Costa de la Luz, its a part of Spain I have not yet visited but intend to soon. hanks again you have been a real pleasure to deal with. Hi Caroline, Elaine here (Pete has gone back to work). Thank you for your apartment it was fantastic and the complex was brilliant. Our two eldest kids (6 and 4) threw away their armbands and went solo in the pool and made many friends, the baby loved the paddling pool. We took them to Selwo Aventura, a safari park just outside of Estepona for the day, a fun day, but I would say to get there early as it gets very hot. Archie went on a camel ride. We also went up the coast to Fuengirola to the aqua park there. Although there were height restrictions on most of the rides (1.20m) the kids managed to find enough to amuse themselves. We also went to Gibraltar and took a taxi ride (25 euro per adult, kids went free) (the cable car ride is just as expensive a quite a hike to get to- not push chair friendly) up the rock, the taxi fare included entrance to the caves and tunnels and of course a running commentary. Thanks for the tip of Jerez airport, we did the journey in about 1 hour 20 minutes. Thank you again Caroline, we loved every minute of it and wished we had book for a longer stay. Hello Caroline The cheque arrived this morning thank you. As always the apartment was perfect, we couldn’t have asked for more thank you. You really have thought of everything, we are already planning next years stay. We had a fantastic time again. We went to Tivoli World, we’re so glad you suggested it, it was such good value for money, we spend 6 and a half hours there, the boys loved the rides and Evie loved the flamenco show. The Dolphin Safari in Gibraltar was amazing, I was gob smacked at the amount of dolphins there were (babies too) we could even hear them chattering to one another. (I have attached a pic) The kids took full advantage of the DVD library, they watched lots of DVD’s, Matilda was a firm favourite and Evie was pleased too se her favourite film there (Grease). Dear Caroline We had a brilliant holiday and your apartment is lovely, I wish we were still there. We did so much! The boys loved Tivolli world, Gibraltar (we did the full tour with the only lady tour taxi driver she was absolutely fab), Whale and Dolphin watching in Tarif, Crocodile world, Funny beach in Marbella, Aquaworld. Dear Caroline, Sorry for delay in response - we've been busy since we got back and hadn't attacked the Email properly. Thank you for use of your lovely flat and for prompt return of our deposit which Judith should by now have put in the bank. Puerto de la Duquesa is an excellent location for visiting that beautiful region of Spain - we went to Gibraltar, Tangier, Seville, Mijas, Ronda and even managed a swim in the Roman bath at Manilva and a sunbathe on the aquaduct! The location has excellent leisure facilities (swimming pools etc) and is very near to a wide range of good restaurants. We have a bit of a fear of excessively trippy / clubby type locations in the Costa del Sol, but we were very pleased with the balance of good restaurants / bars in Duquesa / Subanillas - it suited us very well. The apartment is very well appointed and has been imaginatively furnished. We couldn't think of anything it lacked that we might have wanted while on holiday. It was also very well presented for us when we arrived. We were very pleased with our week there. We have also found you to be very professional, prompt and straightforward in our dealings although we haven't even spoken a word to you! We all thoroughly enjoyed the flat and the location, would certainly use it again and will recommend it to our friends - in fact I did tonight! With Best Wishes, Graham & Judith
