The apartment is located in the Duquesa Village complex, with beautifully landscaped garden areas, access roads, security gate and well maintained residential complex. Ideal for a family of 4.
Inside, the living room is furnished with sofa and chairs, satellite TV, DVD. It has a balcony with table and chairs for four people and has excellent sea views. The dining area has a modern large table and chairs for 6 people and cupboard storage. The apartment is fully centrally air conditioned including warm air heating. The entrance has a wide staircase and is also served by a lift. Several swimming pools and paddle pools, and Tennis courts are available within the complex.
Duquesa Village complex is 5 minutes drive from the beach and La Duquesa sport marina port. The port is surrounded by a variety of shops and restaurants. Many other facilities available within easy reach.

The Costa del Sol stretches along just over 150 kilometres of Málaga province and is one of Spain's most popular tourist destinations. The area is sunny throughout the year with a temperature averaging around 70 degrees most of the year. That makes it possible to enjoy the beaches and a wide variety of outdoor activities all year round. Duqesa is located in the the Western Costa del Sol which is the 100km of coastline that begins at Malaga city and stretches westward all the way to the border of Cadiz province.
The Duquesa / Duquesa Village area
Duquesa is located between midway between Marbella and Gibraltar on the Costa del Sol. Africa can often be seen from the miles of sandy beaches. Duquesa area is surrounded by some of the finest golf courses and beautiful beach locations in the Costa del Sol. They are all within easy reach of Duquesa and are great for family holidays and golf trips.
La Duquesa Port
La Duquesa Port is one of Spain’s best kept secrets. It offers attractive promenades, a variety of restorants, bars, cafes, and shops. The port offers full marina services to boating enthusiasts as well as many attractions for others. There is a choice of eating and drinking places include French, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai and Spanish specialities To either side of the port are sandy beaches with local bars and chiringuitos open in the summer months. The Chiringuito in Castillo is highly recommended. Also in Castillo are some excellent fish restaurants. The lovely beach at Sabanillas is 5 minute walk along the coast. Sabanillas has an excellent Sunday market.
Tarifa (35 min drive) is famous for windsurfing and kiting. Why not try a whale watching trip out of Gibraltar or take the ferry from Tarifa to Morocco, which would be a great day trip.
Golf
There are at least 40 golf courses within one hours driving distance, most famous of which is Valderrama (20 mins drive). Duquesa area is surrounded by some of the finest courses in beautiful coastal locations. Some of the most popular are, La Duquese, Eastapona, San Roque, Stonogrande and Valderrama.
La Duquesa Golf and Country Club has an 18 hole course and it is 5 minutes from Duquesa Village apartment. In addition to golf, the club offers many facilities including tennis, squash, and a fully equipped gym. La Duquesa course winds round El Hacho beacon hill with magnificent views over the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and to Africa.
Other attractions
La Duquesa area offers various types of terrain. The mountains inland hide many small villages. The famous white village of Casares is only a 20 min drive inland. Other towns worth a visit are Mijas, Rhonda, Sevilla, Estapona, Malaga City, Nerja, Puerto Banus and Marbella.
Selwo Adventure Park is a must for kids with wild life species from around the world. There are Aqua Parks at Fuengirola, Torremelinos and Algeciras.
Winter skiing is 2 hours drive away in Granada.

Stayed here for an extended weekend break with family. Spacious well equiped apartment in quiet location but within easy reach of the main resorts & Gibralta. Two swimming pools to choose from, nice area. Walking distance to harbour and shops & restaurants. Bus services at bottom of hill to Marbella & Gibralta. Ferry Services to Morrocco available for day trips. Would highly recommend this property, but you do need a car to get from the airport and around unless you are quite happy using the public transport. Plenty of beautiful Golf Courses on your doorstep to choose from, didnt see my husband from one day to the next! Beach at the bottom of the hill, although nicer ones further up the coast . |

We really enjoyed staying in this beautiful apartment. It was very well equipped and really comfortable. It has swimming pools and a tennis court on site (the apartment was equipped with tennis racquets and balls). The owners have clearly put alot of thought into the small details to ensure that tenants have their needs catered for. The apartment was spick and span and the bathrooms were immaculate. We love holidays where we can relax and chill out, but also explore the area and the apartment was perfectly located to do both. It is situated a short (10 minute) walk from Port Duquesa where there are several restaurants situated around a marina and a couple of beach bars on the beach. We tended to stick to the beach bars during the "relax & chill out" days which served fresh seafood (so fresh that you knew that it had been swimming in the sea the day before) and lovely fresh fruit juices (as well as the obligatory beer or two!). While we were there we were perfectly located to explore the surrounding area. We drove to Gibraltar one day (park in the car park in Spain and walk across the airstrip into Gibraltar - parking in Gibraltar is a nightmare!) and climbed the rock in the company of several curious Barbary apes and spent the evening in one of the several excellent bars in the South side of Gibraltar. Seeing Africa from the top of the rock was just breathtaking. Another day, we went to Ronda - a brilliant place to go, particularly if you are interested in hiking and other sports. For the unsporty amongst you there are plenty of restaurants and tea shops and a bullring to explore. On yet another day, we went on a day trip to Jerez (the home of sherry) and had the opportunity to go on two bodega tours as well as sample a few glasses ;-) There are two large supermarkets a short drive away from the apartment including one with an enormous fish and seafood counter. We also went on a driving tour taking in Gaucin and Casares, "pueblo blanco"s (white villages) which was very picturesque. For a special meal we visited Arroya Honda - a restaurant recommended to us by the owners (there is a handy folder in the aprtment with lots of local information) and the food was sublime - it was a real treat to mark the end of our holiday. If you want to catch some Costa del sol sunshine and explore the South Coast of Spain without having to put up with crowds of enebriated holiday makers, I can't recommend this apartment highly enough. |
