The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Costa del Sol is one of Spain's most popular tourist destinations because of the wonderful climate – hot and sunny in the summer, and mild in winter, sometimes with very warm spells that can take you by surprise. It is great fun exploring the area around by car.
Travelling from Malaga along the Costa del Sol is easy using the Toll Road, and other main roads are good. But there are also lots of minor roads that take you to beautiful mountain villages, like Casares, where the views are spectacular and the coffee is excellent! Ronda, a town split in two by a deep gorge, is well worth a visit and is only an hour's drive away. And in 25 minutes, you could be gazing up at the spectacular Rock of Gibraltar – you'll need your passport to cross the border!
Duquesa / Duquesa Village area
Duquesa Village is at the at the southern end of Costa Del Sol, situated on the hills overlooking Duquesa golf course, and boasts stunning views out along the coast toward Estepona. The area is a popular holiday destination retaining its traditional feel, whilst in easy reach of busier places like Marbella and Gibraltar.
Golfers will know that along this coast there are numerous golf-courses to choose from, but it is also a great place for couples and families.
It takes just five minutes to drive to the Port from Duquesa Village, where there are many restaurants to choose from, and just a stroll away from the Port in nearby San Luis de Sabinillas and Castillio, you'll find more restaurants and bars where you can eat al fresco overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Here too are beaches ideal for children and don't miss a visit to Selwo Hills Safari Park for an excellent family day out.
Within walking distance of the apartment is a small shopping courtyard with an internet cafe, snack bars and souvenir shops.
How to get there
-Malaga is the main airport for this area, and many airlines including the budget ones fly from the UK's regional airports into Malaga, which is then an hour's drive away from Duquesa.
-All the major car hire companies offer cars from Malaga airport. Or try www.malagacar.com for a competitive quote.
-There are also flights from Gatwick, Luton and Manchester to Gibraltar - this is the nearest international airport at just 25 minutes away.

Further details indoors: The apartment is fitted with high quality furnishings throughout, and has cool marble floors. There are two bedrooms, each with two single beds, fitted wardrobes and drawer space. The en-suite bathroom has a jacuzzi bath and shower, and there is a second bathroom with shower. The terrace overlooks the fairway, and is the perfect spot for a relaxing breakfast or when you want to wind down at the end of the day.
The living area is well furnished with a sofa-bed, sofa and recliner, all in cool leather, with TV/DVD which can access British channels through the freeview box, and dining table for six people. The adjoining kitchen is well equipped for all your self-catering needs.
There is air-conditioning, with warm air for those cooler months, and allocated parking in the underground garage with lift access to the apartment.
All bed linen is provided, and towels. Please bring your own beach towels.
Further details outdoors: The complex has a large (unheated) swimming pool, and several smaller pools including one just across the road from the apartment. There is also a tennis court near the main pool.
