Home description

Duquesa Golf & Garden Suites are minutes from Duquesa golf course and the Marina of La Duquesa. The apartments have furnished lifts from the garage spaces that serve apartments on all floors. There are 3 swimming pools, a children's pool/playground area, and a communal bbq area the complex also boasts a paddle tennis court. The local beaches of La Duquesa, Sabillinas and El Castillo are all a 5 min walk away from the marina at Puerto de la Duquesa. La Duquesa is one of Spain’s best kept secrets. Quiet and peaceful in the surrounding area but lively in the Marina and only 25 minutes from the larger resorts such as Marbella, and the glitzy Puerto Banus. There are several local markets for bargain hunting, and many excellent restaurants (Spanish & International) for eating out.

Our apartment was furnished as our home and has only been used as a rental property for a few weeks in Autumn 07. We have a fully fitted kitchen leading into a contemporary living/dining area with 5* furnishings including travertine marble table (with top quality leather chairs) a sideboard to match, a beige leather corner sofa and marble coffee table. Ideal for people that like the nicer things in life. From the patio doors you will find a large south facing terrace area with mosaic/metal furniture, 2 sunbeds and views to die for ideal for 'al fresco' dining. We have 1 king size bedroom and a twin bedroom both with their own bathrooms. The apartment is ideal for couples and families alike. You will find the complex is calmer and quieter out of school holidays. There are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

The Costa del Sol is situated on the south of the Iberian Peninsula and makes up the 161 kilometres of Malaga coastline, also extending without established limits into the provinces of Granada and Cádiz at both ends. The Autovía del Mediterráneo runs the length of the coast from Nerja to Manilva, and we also have the toll road, the AP-7, that veers off at Fuengirola to link all the urban centres as far as the province of Cádiz. Motorists should know that the toll road actually begins beyond Malaga Airport and is free of charge until Fuengirola, where drivers must turn off it if they wish to continue on the old N-340 towards Marbella.

The long summer provides endless sunshine with temperatures often reaching 30-35ºc and in spring and autumn the climate is still warm. And to beat the winter blues you can enjoy wonderful days of comfortable temperatures around 15-18ºc. On the average in total you can enjoy more than 300 days of sunshine



Duquesa / Golf and Gardens Complex area

The complex is situated about 12 kms south west of Estepona. The new motorway (carretera) gives easy access to the main airports of Malaga, Gibraltar & Jerez. The Marina de la Duquesa and surrounding areas provide plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, cafes, and car hire. We have 3 'blue flag' beaches one at Marina de la Duquesa another at Sabillinas de San Luis which is a 5 minute walk away from the marina and offers additional facilities and a local market every Sunday and another beach at El Castillo also a 5 walk away in the opposite direction from the Marina. A 10 mins downhill walk from the complex can reach the Marina de la Duquesa which gives access to these 2 resorts.

In 15 mins you can be shopping in Estepona and the new complex of La Laguna. In the opposite direction you will find the millionaire's paradise of Sotogrande with its Polo facilities and nearby Valderama championship golf course. Within 30 mins you will reach Marbella or Puerto Banus (which offers lively nightlife)

A nearby attraction is the Wildlife Park at Selwo and there is a water park on the outskirts of Estepona and one nearby Algerciras. Within a couple of hours are the historic cities of Cadiz, Sevilla, Ronda, Cordoba & Jerez. From nearby Algericas or Tarifa you can take a day trip by high speed ferry to Tangier or a panoramic train journey to Ronda.

The climate of the Costa del Sol makes this an all year round golfing location. There are many golf courses (as many as 35 including Valderama) in the area. La Duquesa Golf and Country Club is a championship 18 hole Robert Trent designed course that overlooks the Mediterranean and has views of North Africa and Gibraltar. 10 mins away in Casares there is the Dona Julia 6* golf and country club and the brand new Finca Cortesin Golf Club.

A damage deposit of £ 110/150 euros per week is required, this is refunded on your return if there are no damages - A 20% holding deposit is payable on booking. The balance, including damage deposit is due 8 weeks prior to departure - If booking is made less than 8 weeks prior to departure the a Full Payment including damage deposit is required at the time of booking

Change-over days are flexible to suit (due to flights being less expensive midweek, we are happy to accommodate)
