Home description
Situated just a short walk from the beach, our beautifully appointed two bedroom apartment is set in landscaped gardens overlooking a central swimming pool. The accommodation is luxuriously furnished to incorporate polished marble floors and air-conditioning/heating. In the living room there are two leather Sofa's, Coffee table, Tv, Dvd and full dining room suite, the kitchen is fully equipped to incorporate cooker, washing machine and microwave whilst the bedrooms each have their own bath/shower room. The apartment has its own secure underground car-parking with lift access. Far from the madding crowds of Malaga and the built up tourist towns of Fuengirola and Torremolinos this part of the Mediterranean coast is relatively underdeveloped and still retains its own identity, therefore, If its a beach holiday that you are after then you are spoilt fo choice. We have a wide range of beautiful unspoilt beaches to choose from including our local beach which is within a 5 minitues walk, alternatively there are a range of blue flag beaches close at hand. The pretty port of Duquesa is just a 4-5 minute drive where you can relax and choose from an abundance of bars and restaurants which cater for all tastes!

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The Costa del Sol is not just about beaches and ports although you will find them in abundance, its about so much more and our apartment makes a fantastic base from which you can explore the natural beauty of the Andalucian countryside, Moorish towns, parks and gorges including Ronda with its famous bullring.
This part of the coast is a Mecca for sports activity enthusiasts centred on what has become known as the "Costa del Golf". The region boasts numerous courses; add these to the tennis clubs, equestrian courses, sailing clubs, diving and walking-what more could you ask for !
Nothing in this modern world of climate change can be guaranteed, nevertheless, the Costa del Sol enjoys an envied reputation of having some of the best sunshire records in Europe. During the summer months the daytimes can get very hot with the sun being at its most intense therefore with the gentle cooling breeze you have to be carefull and ensure that you slap on the sun cream. Spring and Autumn can also have some lovely hot days where you could find yourself on the beach although the evenings might require the use of a cardigan. You could expect to walk around in a T-shirt during the winter and when the sun comes out it can be quite warm, however,be prepared that it could rain and you will need warmer clothes for the evenings and when the sun isn't out.
Duquesa / Aldea Beach area
As previously mentioned our apartment is ideally located just 4-5 minutes walk from the local unspoilt beach of Aldea, or 3-4 minutes drive from the picturesque port of la Duquesa. Duquesa is a traditional Spanish port with a "twist", it has a contempory feel with a great marina full of life and a great choice of bars, restaurants and cafes to cater for everones taste ! Places to Visit Puerto Banus (30 minute drive) Great shops here, which include Zara, Mango, Jimmy Choo (if your pocket will allow!).It is also recommended to walk around the port to see the wealth of expensive cars and yachts. If you want to eat there are a multitude of restaurants overlooking the marina with prices to suit most pockets. Estepona (15 minute drive) As you enter Estepona there are several roundabouts the port is off of one of these roundabouts on your right. There is a choice of restaurants and bars and an attractive port to walk around. Further along the road there is a long sandy blue flag beach with promenade. Casares (20 minutes drive) Lovely white village (pueblo) up in the mountains. Head back the other side of Sabinillas through the roundabout near “Lidl” and continue to the next roundabout, at this roundabout turn left and just follow your nose, just before the village there is a car park on your right or just park at the side of the road. You take the steps down to the village and then head up to the castle. When you get up to the castle there are some lovely views and as you approach the top there are a couple of bars/restaurants. Take a look at the graveyard, it’s open to the public and I guarantee you will have never seen anything like it before……..one not to miss! Gibraltar (30 minutes drive) Dominating the entrance of the Mediterranean between the southern tip of Spain and the continent of Africa, it’s stratigic location and history have made it an international symbol of solidarity and strength, and it frequently features in world press and media. The rock has a fascinating history with some of the most extensive military fortifications in Europe spanning over 1200 years of Moorish, Spanish and British history. Tourists can enjoy some of the finest caves in Europe as well as the semi wild Gibraltar apes, whilst the bay is well known for Dolphin watching with some of the highest concentrations of dolphins in the Mediterranean. How to get there
Most regional airports will have budget flights directly into Malaga which is approx 55 minitues drive from our apartment. ( eg Easy Jet, Flybe, Monarch, Ryanair, Thompsonfly etc...) Alternatively Gibraltar airport is approx a 25 minute drive or Jerez 1 1/4 hrs. We have visited on numerous occations and found that the best deal on car hire is with "Carjet.com" they act as a broker and get you the best deal available, offer good insurance and add on an extra driver for free ! Obviously hiring your own car is the best way to get around and explore the area ,but if driving on the wrong side of the road ( which I must say is a lot easier than you might imagine) is not your thing, then transferes from the airport can be arranged and once you get to the resort Taxi's are relatively easy to come by. NB Don't forget if you are planning to take advantage of the cheaper budget airlines, the sooner you book the cheaper the flight, as you get nearer your departure so the prices increase.
