The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Duquesa is situated between Marbella and Gibraltar ,and only a short drive from Estepona. It is on the south west coast of Spain, and therefore has great weather for most of the year. Along the coast there are many opportunities for sailing, water sports and dolphin safaris. From Gibralta you can take a short ferry crossing to Morocco in Africa.
Duquesa / Coto Real area
Duquesa is one of the Costa's best kept secrets, perfect for a relaxing holiday with many restaurants, cafe's and bars. The beach is deep and long, perfect for families, and with the beach 'chiringuitos' waiting to serve you cool drinks and fresh fish it really is the perfect holiday destination. Duquesa's own championship golf and country club overlooks the Mediterranean, or by car you can reach courses such as the famous Valderama, and Sottogrande to name but two of the many courses within a 30 min drive. A few minutes walk finds you in Sabinillas, a Spanish town with some authentic restaurants, and shops. Here you can find larger supermarkets suitable for all your self catering needs. If you require bigger shops, then you can head for Marbella or the bustling port of Puerto Banus, both within easy reach. if you are looking for days out then there is the beautiful town of Ronda in the Sierra Blanca mountains, or the stunning white wash village of Casares.
How to get there
Malaga 60 mins, Gibralta 30 mins or Jerez 90 mins If you are hiring a car, it is quicker to stay on the toll road, the AP7, but if you want to spend a little more time follow the coast road, the A7(N340), for some stunning views, but you may get stuck in traffic along the way.
