Our townhouse is located on the Punta Chullera hill between Sotogrande and Duquesa. The enclosed property is quiet and very safe for children as is the gated shared pool area with its landscaped gardens. The property benefits from a spacious living and dining area that opens up onto the front patio.

There are two double and two twin bedrooms and three bathrooms making it ideal for two families holidaying together or for parties of golfers - and there's plenty of room for the golf clubs as well. But if golf is not your "thing" there are plenty of attractions, beaches, restaurants and local villages and markets to keep the others busy while you relax by the pool.

We are only 5 minutes drive from the designer shops, fabulous beach and marina at Sotogrande. Golf courses abound in the area with the world famous Valderrama only a short distance away.

The relaxed atmosphere of Puerto de la Duquesa is very close with its picturesque marina and a great selection of bars and chiringuitos as well as restaurants offering international cuisine.

The local seaside market town is Sabinillas where you will find supermarkets, shops, banks, bars, tapas bars and fish restaurants. Blue flag beaches and a twice weekly market ensure it retains a typical Spanish feel.

Manilva village is a white Spanish pueblo situated only a few minutes away at the top of a hill 1.5 km from the sea.

The Andalucia region

With an average of 26.5 days of sunshine per month it's no wonder it's called the Costa del Sol! And that's not all - the average sea temperature throughout the year is 18C and it rises to 25C in the middle of the summer.

Sabinillas is a thriving Spanish seaside town situated between Estepona and Sotogrande with a stunning “Blue Flag” beach backed by a wide promenade dotted with tapas bars, international bars and restaurants.

Puerto de la Duquesa with its whitewashed buildings is set around a bustling marina, great for soaking up some sun, sipping a vino tinto or fine dining in one of the many international eateries. The stretch between Duquesa and Sabinillas is also renowned for its chiringuito beach bars, many hosting live music acts and local fiestas.

Los Castillos is famed for its fresh fish restaurants and you’ll find that both the locals and the tourists flock here especially in the summer months. Manilva is a charming and fascinating village less than a couple of kilometers from Sabinillas, easily reached from the coast by foot, car or local bus service.

Worthy of special mention is Casares – the road leading from Sabinillas to Casares has some of the best restaurants in the area. Casares village is one of the original Moorish towns on the "ruta de las pueblos blancos" it is a mish mash of sugar cube houses meandering down a hill from the old church. Wonderful to sit on the terrace of Restaurant Laura and look over the entire village and countryside for miles around. It will be one of the highlights of your holiday.


Don't forget to visit Sotogrande – Beverley hills in Spain, tall palms, luxury villas, luxury yachts, people watching to your heart’s content. Some pretty good nightlife too for the younger at heart as well as a beautiful beach withi its popular chiringuita.

Los Castillos is a small fishing village attached to Puerto de la Duquesa, going away from Sabinillas. There is an old castle in the village which hosts opera, classical music nights and themed evenings, it also doubles as a museum and Spanish summer school.

Manilva is famous for its own brand of wine “vino de Manilva”. Each September they harvest the grapes which makes for a week long festival in the town’s main square.

If you are looking for a bargain at the local markets you'll find them in:

Sabinillas: Friday – fruit, vegetable and flower markets to the far side of the paseo.

Sunday – rastro market which is a sort of cross between a car boot and an antiques fair.

Sotogrande: Sunday - by the tennis club - arts and crafts

Estepona: Wednesday - at the feria ground

Sunday - at the marina (handbags, clothes, jewellery, ceramics)

Puerto Banus: Saturday by the bullring – the largest market is held every Saturday morning from 10:00am to

2:00pm and sells everything from designer clothing and bags to antiques.

"A good house for families"

We shared the house between two families, 4 adults and 4 children and it was plenty of space for all of us . The bathrooms were good size too and quite modern and clean. Overall a very good house in a very good condition. The children enjoyed a lot the swimming pool which it was just a few metres outside the house.
There are plenty of beaches to choose although you will need a car but the drive is not more than 10 minutes. We like specially a beach in the Cadiz side called "Cala la Sardina" and another one in the Malaga side called "Aldea Beach"; both of them have a blue flag and all the facilities you would need (toilets, chiringuitos,showers etc) but there aren't very busy at least during the week so it is not problem with the parking.
We visit the town of Estepona, 20km from the house which I really recommend you to do as it is lovely town with a very Spanish feel.
Overall, a very nice area to go specially if you don't like very busy and tourist places like Fuenjirola or Marbella.

"Great house, great location, great holiday."

Stayed here for a week over Easter and were really impressed by the house. It was very clean and tidy and fully equipped, meaning that we did not struggle to cater for or keep our two young boys (8 & 3) entertained and safe (the front gates can be permanently locked and so there is no escape!). The location was perfect - slightly out of the tourist trap, yet busy enough to find plenty to do each day and nice and quiet at night so the kids were not disturbed. There are good local taxi services however, so if you are not with a young family and want to find the lively spots each night you can. We visited the local towns and villages (Duquesa, Sabinillas, Sotogrande & Estepona) and also found time to take a trip to Gibraltar, which is about 30 mins by car. There is also a lovely community outside pool - but was a little too cold for us to attempt at this time of year!
We will definitely be going back and have no hesitation in recommending to friends and family.
