The lodge has a master bedroom with king size bed and en suite shower/bath, and a twin bedroom with separate shower. A luxuriously appointed kitchen adjoins a separate dining area and large lounge. The lounge is equipped with a flat screen tv with surround sound and blue ray dvd player. Both bedrooms also have flat screen televisions.

The lodge is fully centrally heated and insulated to residential standard.

Around the lodge there is a large well appointed decking area from which there is a fine view of the surrounding hills. The lodge is situated on a generous plot with plenty of room to park cars and enjoy a barbecue.

Dunkeld and Birnam are ideally situated for anyone wishing to tour Scotland - Glasgow and Edinburgh are both just over an hour away by car, and the Highlands lie north on the A9.

Transport links are excellent for those not travelling by car - there is even a direct sleeper service from London to the local station.

The area is particularly famed for its fishing on the River Tay, its splendid golf courses, and outstanding scenery.

The surrounding hills have some of the finest walks and cycle trails in Scotland through woodland and open country with an array of wildlife to observe.

Our guests can also benefit from use of the estate facilities including heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna, 2 children's playgrounds, and sports area.

Erigmore House has a fine restaurant and the excellent Zebra bar, which serves food. Entertainment is often provided and there are special events to mark Halloween and Bonfire Night.

The Tayside/Perthshire region

The villages of Dunkeld and Birnam are amongst the most popular destinations in Scotland. Situated at the so called “Gateway to the Highlands”, the villages are easily accessible by road and rail, and provide the perfect location to enjoy the outstanding beauty of Perthshire.

Although the history of the villages dates many centuries back, it was the Victorians who set them firmly on the tourist map. The catalyst was the Highland railway, which initially terminated in Birnam. Many wealthy families built houses in the area – including Erigmore – which they would visit in the summer months. Amongst those visitors was the family of Beatrix Potter who was inspired to write the tale of Peter Rabbit. Her story is told in the Beatrix Potter museum and shop in Birnam.

The River Tay separates the villages which are linked by Thomas Telford's magnificent 200 year old bridge.

Dunkeld

Dunkeld is most famous for its Cathedral on the banks of the river, now a popular wedding venue. It also boasts a fine selection of locally owned shops. The 18 hole golf course overlooking Dunkeld enjoys spectacular views. The nearby Loch of the Lowes wildlife reserve is home to breeding Ospreys.

There are fantastic walks and cycle trails to enjoy, most notably at the Hermitage where you can see the spectacular river falls.

The Birnam Highland Gathering attracts thousands of visitors at the end of August for the traditional games

Reception at Erigmore house has information about the villages, and there is a well equipped tourist information centre in Dunkeld.
