Try a Highland Safari you will never forget the trip, I went with some Australians just before Christmas they had never seen snow,!! and were ecstatic.!!

Great food, Dunkeld Smoked salmon has won loads of awards, or try the wonderful chocolate shop in Strath Tay, yum!! or relax in the Mill Bookshop in Aberfeldy which has great cakes and coffee, sit by the wood burner and read the papers. The Perth and Kinross region

This is a fantastic area for walking, outdoor activities, wildlife watching. "Lady" the famous Osprey can be seen in the Summer also if you are lucky beavers, at the Loch of the Lowes just a few miles away. Go to the Theatre in the Hills at nearby Pitlochry and have a meal looking over the Tay. Edinburgh is only an hour by car or take the train from Dunkeld and relax. So much to do we are very central for a bit of exploring . Castles in all directions, Glamis, Blair Castle with the only Private Army in Britain , Scone Palace I could go on. Do look at a proper map of the area before you come as SAT NAV is not reliable.

Dunkeld

Strahtbraan and the surrounding area is a gem. You can sit and watch the wildlife from the Bothy , or if you come in the Spring the lambs in the field in front , hens are scratching around, I have to watch them when I am planting the vegetables, they have been known to follow me digging up the peas!! Go quad biking or clay pigeon shooting on the next door farm, you are taken to the top of the hill for fantastic views. Try Highland Safaris near Aberfeldy, a real treat, loads of sports events during the year from the Etape Cycle race to the Mountain Man event. There is also a new Cinema in Aberfeldy which has something for everybody. Near to Tombane, there is the Beatrix Potter exhibition at Birnam Arts the kids love it as there are dressing up and things to play with, a shop and a wonderful cafe. Or visit the tranquil setting of Dunkeld Cathedral on the banks of the Tay. So much to do and the colours are amazing this year, take a walk in the wood and collect your sloes to make sloe gin for Christmas!!
