About the home
Denhead Cottage is a recently modernised country cottage apartment. The rooms are large and bright with beautiful quality furniture. It has a sunny conservatory lounge with a patio door that opens onto a secluded patio with electric sunshade and plants. The patio is private, securely fenced, and is a lovely place to sit out and relax. It overlooks our own lawn and attractive country garden. From the patio you can watch the wild life and our horses coming back from the field to their stables for their afternoon siesta or to be fed.
For that quiet drink inside or out there is a small bar fitted into the corner of the lounge with an ice-maker and cooler.
The new contemporary kitchen includes all the features to make cooking easy whilst you are on holiday. A combination microwave and oven, a ceramic hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier are all provided with a special corner sink making good use of the space. The kitchen comes complete with washing up liquid, cleaning sprays and cloths, teatowels, bin bags, dishwasher tablets and more!
The two large bright bedrooms are fitted with exceedingly comfortable pocket sprung superking (6') and kingsize(5') double beds ensuring a good nights sleep. The beds can be 'unzipped' to provide four single beds. Our guests often say how comfortable they find them. The apartment bathroom has a walk-in shower, corner bath, basin and toilet all in a tiled area with thermostatically controlled underfloor heating giving a luxurious feel. The apartment is heated by easily controlled oil central heating.
Our guests (4 persons) also have free access to the nearby 4* Leisure Spa, set within the nearby PiperDam Golf and Leisure Resort . The Spa facilities include a 20m x 10m heated swimming pool, spa bath, gym, sauna and steam room and a fully equipped techno gym and beauty suites. Great for keeping the whole family happy.

There is easily controlled oil Central Heating so you can be cosy in whatever weather! All beds are of the zip and link variety and can be made into large double beds ( 6' and 5') or 4 single beds. The beds have new exceedingly comfortable pocket sprung mattresses so you'll have a good nights sleep! If necessary a put u up bed is also provided - as is a cot. The Sofa bed is also available.
Daily Membership to Piperdam Leisure Spa is included in the rental for 4 guests. At Piperdam, which is approx. 1 mile away, there is a good sized gym and a large swimming pool with steam room and sauna suite. There is also an excellent restaurant!

The patio area is a delightful place to sit and enjoy the garden. Garden furniture is available so you can sit out and enjoy the sunshine and a glass of wine!
An area outside with securing ring for locking up bicycles is provided.
For horse riders there is stabling and grazing available with parking for trailers. The is an abundance of off road tracks and rides to enjoy.
For dog owners there is access to fields immediately adjacent to the cottage for lovely off road long - or short!- walks along tracks and grassy field edges.

Welcome Pack provided on arrival with a Special Welcome Pack for Christmas, New Year and Easter.
Our changeover days normally are from Saturday, however if you have another day you would like to start your holiday on please let us know and we will try and accommodate you. A different changeover day is more likely on non peak times.
Conditions
We have a child's travel cot and a high chair should you require it. Please bring your child's bedding.
Tesco can deliver your grocery shopping to the cottage.
The Tayside / Perthshire / Angus/Dundee region
Central Scotland is an ideal place to be based. It is between the lively cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow and the picturesque Highlands of Scotland. Perth sits almost central and is known as the "Gateway to the Highlands", whilst Dundee is farther east along the meandering famous Tay. The hills between Perth and Dundee (Carse of Gowrie) are dotted with Scottish Castles and Keeps, whilst the fertile land is mainly used for fruit growing.
The Old Course of St.Andrews and the Championship course of Carnoustie lie only about 30 mins away. Famous Glamis Castle, Broughty Ferry Castle and Claypotts Castle are worth a visit as is Scone Palace where Kings of Scotland were crowned on the Stone of Destiny.
The Dundee / Fowlis area
The well known Downfield, and municipal Camperdown Park and Caird Park Golf Courses are only 5 minutes away with the local course at Piper Dam Resort only 1km from the Cottage. These suit not only the holiday golfer but also the more serious player. There is Trout Fishing available locally in small lochs and if horse riding is your interest we can provide grazing and stabling beside the cottage so you can have your own riding holiday. A local riding map is provided. There is also a Riding School within 3km where lessons or ride outs are available.
The area is also suitable for cyclists of all disciplines with road and off road tracks shown on a map.
Good cinemas and theatres are closeby in Dundee and Perth, with a cinema and ice skating arena in a complex only 5 minutes away.
A list of recommended restaurants and out of the way places to eat is provided, along with night clubs and bars for those of you wanting to let your hair down! Quality restaurants to cosy country pubs provide varied menus, all within easy reach of the Cottage.
The owner has a collection of Classic vehicles which he is only too happy to show them to those interested. His wife keeps and rides horses.

The cottage is in a very secluded position, within easy reach of Dundee by car. We enjoyed our stay and Minnie the dog loved the walks around the local area. The cottage is very warm and comfortable, with lovely comfy beds, a real home from home, we hope to visit again soon Response: The off road walks around us are great and you are able to walk to the closeby Piper Dam Resort which we provide passes for. We've wanted the cottage to be a place where guests could relax and yet be able to venture out and see the countryside easily and our location provides that. Dundee and area provide beautiful walks and has wonderful museums and places to visit. |

Great cottage with many positives, lovely layout, ideal for a base for touring or playing the local golf courses. Big bedrooms, lounge with bar and kitchen/diner, great welcome pack with a friendly visit from the owner! Only minor downside is that the parking was cramped and access is on quite a busy road, being in the country when it's dark it's really dark however that in many ways adds to the appeal. Everything you need in the cottage, maybe not ideal for small children playing out however inside is perfect for all ages, |

10% DISCOUNT off weekly and nightly rates for the use of one bedroom (Main Bedroom). Lounge sofabed may be used only for one extra adult or two children. This discount does not apply on Late Deals.
A heating cost of £30 per week for winter is charged from September to/including April, and £15 per week for rest of year. This is calculated as an average weekly cost based on both bedrooms being used. Usage is monitored and any amounts used over this will be charged accordingly.
For Late or Early Booking Deals, please ask as sometimes we receive last minute cancellations.
Payments accepted by Bank Transfer, Personal Cheque drawn on a UK Bank, credit card using Paypal on the internet. When using Bank Transfer please ensure all bank fees and charges are not taken off the amount transferred.
