The Province of Leinster region
This deceptively spacious home is 2 miles from Duncannon village with its wonderful beach, children's playground and basketball court. It is tastefully furnished and decorated, with spacious bedrooms one of which has a Jacuzzi bath. Patio doors lead to the decked area at the rear of the property. From here you can explore the delights of the Hook Peninsula, see the magnificent lighthouse or even take a day trip into Wexford or Waterford. Duncannon has a couple of pubs with traditional music and two restaurants.
Duncannon is a charming fishing village on the famous Hook head. This popular fishing village boasts a star shaped fortress, Duncannon Fort, which was built in 1588. The Fort which incorporates a maritime museum, Cockleshells arts centre, caf? and craft shop is open to visitors from June to September daily. Blue flag status was also awarded to Duncannon Beach which is where the International Sand Sculpting Festival takes place every year. Hook head peninsula is famous for its wreck diving, and wild landscape. Visitors to the area can also enjoy the very scenic Ring of Hook signposted drive which takes visitors along a wealth of historic sites and coastal roads reaching Hook Head.
The playground of South West Wexford, the ideal place for everything from an afternoon out to an action packed holiday. This area is steeped in history, and there are many castles, abbeys and other places of interest. The local motto is 'You can enjoy a beach a day for two weeks!'
This scenic area offers many interesting attractions including Hook Lighthouse, Tintern Abbey, the Dunbrody Famine Ship, the J.F.K. Arboretum and the Kilmokee Gardens. This is a perfect base for touring or relaxing.
