The South/Borders region
Dumfries and Galloway is a beautiful unspoilt area of Scotland. With miles of coastline and some lovely beaches, forests, hills and rivers there is something here for everyone. There are 8 golf courses within a 20 mile radius of the cottage. Heaven for hill walkers, cyclists, golfers and fishers. The area is within easy distance of Glasgow and Edinburgh - a couple of hours will take you to either of these cities. Both offer lots of attractions museums, galleries and of course Edinburgh Castle.
Dumfries and Galloway / Parton area
Parton is 7 miles from the Food Town of Castle Douglas and 3 miles from Crossmichael which has a local inn, and a well supplied local shop and post office. The Loch is found on the edge of the Forest Park and has numerous walks and safe areas for watersports, a marina and a sailing centre are within 2 miles of the cottage. The cottage is also close to the 7 Stanes Cycle area.

Both BMI Baby and British Airways run regular flights to Glasgow Prestwick Airport.
