Granny`s croft house was built in 1802 and is located in the beautiful crofting village of Duirinish on the mainland overlooking the Isle of Skye. Quiet and peaceful, only ten minutes drive from the Isle of Skye, the cottage has easy access to all local amenities in the villages of Plockton and Kyle of Lochalsh with many excellent local seafood restaurants for eating out.
With one double and one single bedroom, the villa is ideal for couples/families, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay. Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty where the sea and mountains offer numerous opportunities for anyone wishing to explore the highlands of Scotland.

West highland village with outstanding views of the Isle of Skye and the Inner Hebrides warmed by the Gulf Stream the area benefits by having a temperate climate,enjoying warm summers and mild winters.
This picturesque highland village enjoys an abundance of natural wildlife, highland cattle and sheep graze freely around the village area. Close to Eilean Donan and Dunvegen castles, Iron Age Brochs and Cranogs,
and numerous Munroes. Local boat trips to see dolphins, otters and seals are available at Plockton and Kyle of Lochalsh.
The Duirinish area
The crofting village of Duirinish is set in a beautiful location in the West Highlands of Scotland and has been used in filming "Hamish Macbeth" as well as for a few whiskey adverts and the recent digital switchover. The surrounding area being used for filming "Highlander" , "The Wicker Man", etc .
The village provides an excellent base from which to explore some of Scotland`s most romantic and beautiful scenery such as Kintail, Plockton, Glenelg, Torridon and Lochcarron. To the rear of the village stands the dramatic Applecross mountains separated by the "Pass of the Cattle" a 2000ft high old drovers path over the mountains. Also just a 10 minute drive away lies the Isle of Skye with it`s "toll-free bridge" crossing to the enchanting Cullin mountains. For those wishing a more romantic method of travelling to Skye the old car ferry at Glenelg provides a more relaxing and spectacular crossing.The area has plenty on offer from adventurous activities such as mountain climbing, kayaking, sailing, horse-riding to the more traditional relaxing sightseeing activities like the Highland games and local yachting and music festivals. A natural area of outstanding beauty, the area promotes a wide diversity of birds, animals, fauna and floral splendour which have captivated visitors over the years.
