The Dubrovnik Riviera/Islands region

George Bernard Shaw called Dubrovnik “the pearl of the Adriatic” when he visited here in the 1930s and Dubrovnik is still popular with visitors from all over the world. With its uniquely preserved medieval walls, brilliant sunshine, translucent waters and dramatic mountains, the Dubrovnik Riviera is a unique holiday experience that lives up to its reputation as a premier destination. Ideal for those who want to relax and sunbathe by the clear warm waters of the Adriatic, and if you’re feeling more energetic there is the magnificent Old Town to discover, or you can take longer trips on land or sea.
The Dubrovnik / Dubrovnik Old Town area
Dubrovnik is clearly special. A magnificent curtain of walls surrounds marble streets and baroque buildings that exude a pearly light in the Adriatic sun. The main pedestrian thoroughfare, Stradun, is a melange of cafés and shops with outstanding monuments at either end. Churches, monasteries and museums ornamented with finely carved stone recall an eventful history and a vibrant artistic tradition. Beyond the city is a heavenly landscape of beaches, wooded peninsulas and a sea strewn with lush islands.

Guestbook for Casa Bella
“I just thought I should send a note to let you and the owner of Casa Bella that we had a wonderful stay at this apartment. We were in Dubrovnik for our son's wedding and the location and size of this apartment provided a central point for our entire group to meet and visit throughout the week. We had a group of about 63 people and I believe we had the best location of the entire group.
When you book something like this over the internet, there is always a doubt on whether the pictures are deceiving or the description overstates the reality of the facility. In this case there were no surprises. We found everything as it was described. I would definitely recommend this apartment to others.”
DAVE, USA August 2011
“We found apartment Casa Bella absolutely amazing. The position was perfect, right in the heart of the Old Town & it had such character. There were 3 adult couples in our group, so the 3 large bedrooms & 2 bathrooms were ideal. Ozana who greeted us was just wonderful - she even cooked us delicious pancakes when we arrived. She told us all about the city & her life there which we found both interesting & informative. We certainly would love to stay there again if the opportunity presents itself.”
BARB, AUSTRALIA July 2011
“I would just like to say thank you for making our stay in Dubrovnik a wonderful and easy experience. We were met at the airport by the taxi that you arranged for us and then taken to the city wall where we were met by a friend of the apartment owner. We had a short walk to Casa Bella and were greeted there by the owner’s mother who was a wonderful lady explaining details about the apartment and the city while she made coffee and cakes for us. We went to several of the restaurants you recommended and took the bus tour round the city which was very informative and well worth doing. Thanks again for making our stay in Dubrovnik great.”
SIOBHAN and 5 FRIENDS, UK June 2011
“We stayed in Casa Bella apartment for 4 nights in early May 2011. We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is very well located to walk everywhere within the Old City. No buses or taxis required. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. The WiFi internet was very helpful. The kitchen was large and very functional although we only ate breakfast in the apartment as there are so many great restaurants in and around the old city.
Ozana, who met us to walk to the apartment from the gates, was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable and helpful. We arrived late in the evening and she made us pancakes when we arrived, lovely touch. We then walked her to her bus stop and enjoyed her conversation.
For future guests I would recommend travelling with light luggage. We were travelling for 3 weeks in several countries and had too much luggage for the walk from the drop off point at the gate to the apartment. Again, Ozana was of great assistance in helping pull the luggage to the apartment. Overall we would highly recommend Casa Bella for staying in the old city of Dubrovnik.”

“We are enjoyed by our stay in Dubrovnik. The location of Casa Bella was perfect in the old city, and all of the accommodation was without problem during our stay. We are very satisfied by your service: always a great reactivity facing our requirements, the driver was in time at the arrival and at the return, Ozana, the owner's mother, was waiting us and get us a very good welcome with a drink at our arrival. A good surprise, the internet connection was perfect in the apartment. A bad information for the new comers: a restaurant was in building at the first level just opposite the apartment (at 3 meters!)”
DANIEL & ISA, FRANCE April 2011
“Let me start by saying a profound "thank you" for all your assistance in helping us with our vacation in Dubrovnik. From the first inquiry email I sent, you answered my questions clearly and patiently and addressed each concern we had about visiting a location we had little knowledge of. Your help made the planning easy and our actual arrival simple. The driver you arranged met us and took us directly to the city walls so all we had to do was enjoy the beautiful scenery. Secondly, Casa Bella was marvelous!! It exceeded our expectations and was the perfect spot for our family of five to nest while we explored Dubrovnik. Thank you for your help in creating a dream vacation. We will return!!”

“Just a quick note to let you know that Casa Bella was fantastic for our week in Dubrovnik. It was perfect, much bigger than we expected and so luxurious. Also, the other wedding guests were delighted with the various apartments booked through you. Everyone was located so close to each other so meeting up was so easy.”
--NUALA, IRELAND July 2010
“Casa Bella was a charming and elegant retreat from the rain. The modern, well-equipped kitchen was a pleasant place to enjoy breakfast and make our plans for the day, and the apartment location is perfect for exploring the Old City. We couldn't ask for more--lovely apartment and friendly people! We also enjoyed dealing with your friendly and efficient service. You promptly responded to all of my questions and everything ran smoothly. The driver you arranged was waiting for us at the airport, and Ozana was waiting at the city gate to walk with us to the apartment."
-Anne, USA May 2010
“We had a lovely stay at Casa Bella. It was very comfortable and charming. The owner’s mother was most helpful and attended to any need we had. The place was so convenient and Dubrovnik was beautiful. Thank you for your assistance with our rental.”
-Nancy & Larry, USA (October 2009)
“I had an absolutely amazing stay in Dubrovnik. Casa Bella was flawless: the location was perfect, the facilities were of an extremely high standard, and the staff were friendly and helpful from the moment I sent my first email till the morning we sadly had to leave. Thank you for making our stay such a comfortable one.”
-Lynn, UK (October 2009)
“We loved Casa Bella; it was in a great location and was well taken care of and clean.”
-Iva, USA (August 2009)
“Let me begin by saying I am one of those picky travelers that can bear to stay only in five-star resorts. However, we had a wonderful stay in Casa Bella in the Old Town in Dubrovnik. The location was fabulously close to a farmer's market, shopping, and dining, and the place was clean and gracefully furnished.”
-Anastasia, USA (July 2009)
“Casa Bella was in an ideal location in Old Town, quiet and comfortable for the four of us. With 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and full kitchen, it was quite roomy. We found the place quite easily following the directions. The apartment had everything we needed and was very nice. We had a lovely stay in Dubrovnik and loved every minute of it...especially walking the town walls and finding our way to the "Cold Drinks" patio on the other side of the wall.”
-The Weakleys and The Moulds, Oregon, USA (May 2009)
“I wanted to thank you, Andrew and Michelle. My wife, small child, and I had a wonderful time in Dubrovnik staying in Casa Bella. Our apartment was very large and it was roomy enough for our 15-month-old to play in. A crib was provided at our request and you helped us set up a pickup from the airport. The apartment offered much more space than a hotel and for half the price. I feel our experience was much enhanced by staying in the Old Town section of Dubrovnik. Your recommendations about where to stay were very helpful and your knowledge of the area was absolutely correct. Thank you for the restaurant recommendation list; we ate at the places you recommended and had a great time. We even lucked out and saw the St. Valentine's parade. It was a lot of fun. Thanks again!”
-The Harringtons, USA (February 2009)
“Casa Bella was quiet, clean, and in a central location. Our landlady had been informed of our arrival time and was waiting at the gate to direct us to our apartment. We found it to be just as it was described on the website, and a wonderful accommodation for two couples. Thanks for everything.”
-Nancy, Canada (September 2008)
“Dubrovnik is my new favourite city! Casa Bella was perfectly located in the heart of the walled city, really spacious, high ceilings and quality traditional furniture and decorations - not cheap self assembly tack and a lick of paint as is often the case with tourist accommodation. The accommodation was just right, reasonably priced, and the questions I emailed in about currency, airport transfers etc. were answered in perfect English in a flash. Great break; if ever we return, which is more than likely, I wouldn't dream of using anyone else.”
